There were a LOT of us, and I bet there are even more who did not get the word. Don't suppose we can get a mention either at opening ceremonies or DC101?

I do believe blakdayz has a hand in dc101 stuff (if not directly then he can link you to people). I drop him a line and tell him to get on here astcell.

This gathering will be a watershed moment for me as I will be 90 days out from retirement. So NEXT year I'll have a cane and shoo you off my grass.

I'll be somewhere in that time frame as well. Only difference is I haven't been around since General Washington old man.

So this years meetup will be at the Irish Pub @ Rio on 8 PM Friday evening. Next year we should be back in full swing with a room and bar. This may change, and if it does - folks will post updates here.

Irish song chanting will be required. ;)

Just to clarify: I'm postponing the unofficial DEFCON Military Veterans Security Meetup this year. There is no single reason why, but having to coordinate a bunch of different pieces without being able to attend is one of them. Rest assured we will be back again next year, and hopefully at other cons, too. A number of people have offered to take over and for that I am grateful. At this point, I feel like it would not be a sufficient amount of time to put together a worthy event.

If people want to run another event in its place, that's certainly in their prerogative and I wish them all the best!

The description for the event to be run by ThePrez98 was "TBA" with links to a webpage/site and twitter, it still is.

The description for the forum I just created for what you describe is just "TBA"

It is listed right next to the event by thePrez98 which is cancelled this year. Its name will be revised to be prefixed with "CANCELLED".

I read DT's comment on some vet meetup happening as approval, but I also emailed Nikita, Pyr0 and you for the other details and to keep them in the loop. Feel free to take over that conversation; with DT's comment, I have what i needed to make a forum.
