I'd have a local shop fix it, but $10 for repair plus the part, heck that is more than the value of any Hi-8 camera. I found a guy who wants it for $100 but he has yet to come through. You can still use it, just opening the unit to get your tape in our out requires a little leverage.

I'm using D-8 now, but I love those little mini cameras with the new format, mmmm, it'd end up in pool #1 though I know it...

the panasonic egear or something like that? that thing looked cool and I about picked it up until I saw that it only did 640x480 pics. for video, that's fine but for dig camera, I wanted a little something more.

in addition to the sketchy resolution, there's no optical zoom. no room for it. thats the part i dont like.

Yes, c0nv3r9, thank you! BTW, I'm certainly not a videophile, and I wasn't trying to be picky with choice of format. I only get picky when it's a proprietary format that I can't view without getting out of bed and moving to another computer, which is just way more effort than I'm willing to expend for this particular subject matter.

im sitting here downloading the video and its just painful how slow dialup is compared to what im used to....
BTW, if you *PING* 4000 ips on your sk0l's network they will cut your connectoin and tell you to cal a guy that is unreachable for more than one week forcing you to sign up for a free trial of msn internet access....not that i would know or anything
