    just another random thought....

    DEF initely looks like
    CON fiscation
    22 many of us

(definitely looks like confiscation to too many of us)

and yes, inspired by recent AYRES event in Cali.....

hah, that's pretty decent, i think. would take a really good design to pull it together, but i like it.

as always, i will remind folk that i have utterly nothing to do with the shirts (other than wearing one when i get one)

i do not control the decision for the design, i do not source the apparel, i do not produce them, i do not get them to DEFCON, i do not sell them in the desert. the free market and the DC Forums gets all that done (often with, i think, monofadil actually making the shirts)

I don't feel cool when I go there. I'm tired of seeing John Mayer's face pop up. I feel like I'm being hustled when I visit there, and I don't think their product is that great. DRM, low bit rate, etc... OiNK it existed because it filled a void of what people want."

Seems similar to the politicians that were some of the most homophobic, ended up being gay.

I'd love to have Yee on the shirt somehow.

Still hoping for some more ideas. I do like dclaw's idea of the compass, but I'll need help since it's beyond my MSPaint skills. Perhaps even a small map of where the shoot is held, with the compass in on it for reference.

A modification on astcell's idea is to take a diagram of a .22 and include additional details about the shoot on it.

Maybe something on the front about trusting politicians... Though just Yee makes it very CA specific, maybe some kind of Rushmore-esque layout of corrupt gun grabers from across the country?

i kind of like the Mt Rushmore idea... who would make the top list of anti-gun politicians in US history? and would Yee be on the mountain or just looking at it and wishing there was room for one more? or begrudging the fact that he'll "never make it up there now"?

i'm thinking Ted Kennedy or Dianne Feinstein might be candidates.

Note: I did not check these for accuracy / legitimacy yet which needs to be done if they are going to be used.

"If I could have banned them all - 'Mr. and Mrs. America turn in your guns' - I would have!"
                      (I'd "..." the middle)
"And yet it’s legal to hunt humans with 15-round, 30-round, even 150-round magazines."
                      - Diane Feinstein

We have had enough as a nation. You are not allowed to own a gun, and if you do own a gun I think you should go to prison."

"I believe it is the shoulder thing that goes up"
                      - Carolyn McCarthy

"If you ban them in the future, the number of these high capacity magazines will decrease is going to decrease dramatically over time because the bullets will have been shot and there wont be any more available."
                      - Diana DeGette

"If there's ever a problem... fire two blasts outside the house... Buy a shotgun"
                      - Joe Biden

"Some of these bullets have an incendiary device on the tip of it, which is a heat seeking device"
                      - carolyn mccarthy

The key to this hypocrisy is most/all of these people have armed body guards. I think an image of armed big bouncers surrounding them while they talk about banning guns may help get the hypocrisy across.

This years theme for Defcon is based off the movie "They Live". So we could use that infamous quote about bubble gum? Or use one of the images from the movie?

                            Re: DC22 Shoot Shirts

My hotel is booked, my lanes are reserved for the shoot, and I've nearly finished watching all of the videos from DC21, so all that is left is my flight and the shirts.

In DC18 we had "18 and legal", 20 (xx) had dos equis - the most interesting man in the world. 19 and 21 didn't have anything specific linking the shoot to the defcon "number", but "22" does have some obvious links as was stated before. If "They Live" is the theme for the overall DefCon this year, perhaps the NSA as the "alien overlords"? Or range safety rules as the subliminal wording?

69 days left until the shoot.

                              Less than 10 weeks away.
