Has anyone heard of any sort of monitoring software that can monitor instant messenging (AIM) remotely with out any sort of client software being installed on the target computer? I didnt think such a thing existed but my cousin recently had a problem with a neighbor who claimed that "She was watching what he wasy saying." He did a virus scan and didnt come up with any trojans or anything of that sort. Iam assuming his neighbor is full of shit cause ive been searching google and the forums and havent seen anything of the sort, just curious if any of you guys have come across anything of this sort.

They are watching......I tend to be the more paranoid type about what I say online, I am getting more and more paranoid as the country starts gathering power over the internet.Originally posted by blackwave
you either must be paranoid (and suspect that your communications are being monitored at all times regardless of where you are), or you either must not care (that every character you type is being logged), being both can drive you crazy.~:CK:~

So why don't you use secure IM then. Tunnels the convo and easily passes through firewalls.Killing threads one post at a time...Comment

I think that the Cult of the Dead Cow came up with a remote thing such as this, all you had to do was enter there IP address(Do not know if it is true or not). ... Even though this does not fulfill EeeekPenguins original request - being that nothing be installed on the client side (such as this server software)....Originally posted by Ic3burn

You are referring to bo2k:
http://www.bo2k.com
If you are interested in this you can also try subseven:
http://www.subseven.ws/
both offer a variety of task-specific plugins ... you decide...
... but there is a ton of AOL/AIM specific software out there for remote monitoring, either as a service, or a client package... but they cost $$... (and generally require to install something - defeating the purpose )
Remember use all this at your own risk.Comment

I think that Microsoft did something to help protect against BO2k, anyone ever use this before?
you know, feel free to get as many details as you can before throwing out a question... like links, quotes, etc.. that always helps. posing something that seems like a question isn't always the best idea...
for example: hey you know that thing where it launches this other thing and then it doesn't do that one thing anymore?... yeah that was great, but hey, what happens to the last thing that it does do?...Comment
