DEF CON Ten speeches now on-line

Encoded DEF CON TEN talks are now on-line from the DEF CON media server. Some of the talks are missing and we are re-encoding them.

If you try to use a leeching tool like StreamBox to try and grab them, don't be surprised if your IP address gets banned.

This is the first time I've tried the new Helix encoding method, so let me know what you think about the Ten quality vers the 9 quality.

archive

How large do you think the total archive would be? Would it be possible to have ftp access to the files, or possible offer data dvd's of them. I would love to be able to archive the video's. Cause well streaming is a pain and im on broadband.

BW i will email u some cash if u can get the speechs on VHS. I would like to have a copy of them on my site as well.

you can always do it the long way.
record to a tape deck then bring it back in to cooledit.
bingo its done.
but it would be better to pay DT like a $10 fee and by the cd at defcon XI.

this seems like a enormous ammount of cash for defcon talks on tape. Why is it soo expensive?

I agree. I wanted the videos but the charges are too high.
