  • DC23 Shoot Shirts

If you liked the shirts last year, I'm willing to help with them again. Started scoping out some ideas and came up with the 23 Enigma.

It's still early, so lets start tossing around some ideas. Cheers

Maybe we can work this in somewhere:

If you want the 23 theme, and the silliness of numerology:

        One 25 Cal = 6.35 mm: (6 * 3) + 5 = 23
        One 44 Cal: (44 / 2) +1 = 23
        One 45 Cal: (1 + 45) /2 = 23
        One 38 Cal: (3 * 8) - 1 = 23
        One 50 Cal: .50 = .20 + .30, (.20 +.30/10)*100 = 23

23 is everywhere! Always less than One step away.
(No. I do not believe that beyond what we can do with math to make it seem relevant, or seem like it is part of a pattern, when the pattern only exists because we force it.)

There is a line from the movie "Pi" where the main character is advised to not put faith in numerology, as he will begin to see a number he thinks is significant everywhere.

The most relevant number I can think of, is the caselenght of .45 ACP is about 23mm if memory serves me right. And there's the H&K MK23, and Galil Ace 23. Another idea; Have the shirt say DEFCON .223 and have it purposefully be somewhat misleading.

Well it wouldn't have to have "23" as a theme. Perhaps we could just stick with the film noir / art noir theme set by DEF CON.

Current events have worked well in the past too. Looking forward to seeing what ideas surface.

Hmm what about Shellshock as in the exploit, with an emphasis on "shell" as in spent ammunition?

Does the link still not work? What was broken with it? Feel free to PM details, or reply in this thread https://forum.defcon.org/forum/gener...ums-discussion so we don't highjack this thread with off-topic content.

I think a similar problem happened to someone posting updates in the Crypto & Privacy village forum. Their link appeared truncated like this one. I'm wondering how you made these links and if they are still broken for you , and which method you used to create the working link so I can diagnose the cause of this.

                  TIA
                  -Cot

I agree. We usually end up brainstorming ideas around the number, but outside of 18 and 22, we end up with current events. I'd love one year to have a shirt parallel with the theme of the general con, so suggestions around that are great, and I think current events/technologies are ripe for shirt-worthy ideas.

Once again I'm planning on ordering shirts, both pre-orders and for general availability. And I think I still have an XXXL from DC21 available.

                      Brainstorming for fonts:

                      #1 http://www.fontspace.com/nicks-fonts...kground=FFFFFF
                      #2 http://www.fontspace.com/peter-wiege...kground=FFFFFF

My favorites of these are the first from #1, or the first, fourth, or eighth from #2.

if we went with the Noir theme, imagine something that borrows heavily from a poster like this... https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped...99/Falconm.JPG
"I'll admit I had an OiNK account and frequented it quite often… What made OiNK a great place was that it was like the world's greatest record store… iTunes kind of feels like Sam Goody to me. I don't feel cool when I go there. I'm tired of seeing John Mayer's face pop up. I feel like I'm being hustled when I visit there, and I don't think their product is that great. DRM, low bit rate, etc... OiNK it existed because it filled a void of what people want."

                            Very cool.

Also since my links to font samples didn't work, here's some images: http://imgur.com/a/OgB8V

What about displaying it as a binary number of 0b 10111 in some fashion? Perhaps showing broken/hole clay pigeons/bowling pins.
