    Hey Sleestak!

What’s the process to have meeting announcements like this on the forum? Would love to implement for DC615.

If we could get some way to identify a forum account for each DCG trusted to post calendar announcements, we could grant access for that account to specify an event and choose "DCG" as the type of event, so it can be exported to the main website under "Upcoming Dates"

As it is right now, only forum mods/admins can choose a type of event other than "No Event Highlighting" to avoid abuse by spammers, and people with interest to create events exported to the main site which would be problematic.

As a regular user, you can create events on the forums like this with "No Event Highlighting" at any time, but they are not exported to the main site. To get export of the event to the main site, more access would be needed to set the type of event. If you would like to add an event, check out this article: https://forum.defcon.org/node/228321

Basically, the options to add an event exist *only* when a new thread is created, not a reply to an existing thread. Same with adding polls -- only a new thread has that option.

If you want sleestak to do do it, you will have to wait for an answer from him.
