Thanks! Did yours come with the bottom connector or did you solder it on yourself? Mine came with an extra connector but my friends badge did not.

In the event you want to have a case for you badge so that it doesn't slide around your desk, I whipped this up

    Printed on an Ender5
    • 0.2mm layer hight
    • 10-20% infill
    • 50-80mm/s speed
    Here's a draft version of the holder - https://imgur.com/gallery/sb8Ba0F

I've seen USB over IP being a thing... though how applicable that is, I'm not sure.

I discovered that the right side acts as a volume slider when connected to a computer

Having fun with this, thanks for the help folks! This is the first time that I have done this kind of thing, total n00b over here. I have had an interest in this stuff for years and dabbled here and there but due to mental and physical health issues never had the energy or time. Now I am beginning to feeling better and my drive is in high gear to learn this stuff.

FezPirate who wanted the files from the boot loader here they are https://cryptpad.fr/file/#/2/file/y3...QJ9Al+GsqiciG/

Do note that on the serial interface and the included instructions it says the following:

Note: This badge is running very limited firmware. The full firmware will be available when DEF CON starts.

On the back of my badge the binary converts to ASCII 'Red' when read top to bottom, left to right.

What kind of cable should we bring to connect badges together at the con? USB-A to USB-A?

Same one of the male connectors on the side broke and was floating around in the bubble wrap. Everything else seems to be ok

I'm attending virtually this year, and would like to collab with a team on the badge challenge. Also interested to see the GOON/PRESS/PRESENTER badges; looks like the badges connect together to form a mural and probably spit out a completed cipher when you mount the filesystem. I have some other observations for anyone looking for a team mate.
