'D’ in Hacker Stands for Diversity
Friday & Saturday, 10:00 – 18:00
Sunday 10-00 - 14:00
Harrah’s Laughlin
The Information Security Collective is a non-profit organization focused on advancing diversity, inclusion, and accessibility across the information security industry. We work to help under-represented groups succeed in the industry through collaboration, developing technological and career-related skills, community development, and other activities. Our staff work as penetration testers, security engineers, and within incident response, while our members range from enthusiasts to industry veterans.
We will provide a perspective that is often not seen at DEF CON, that of under-represented groups such as women, Veterans, BIPOC, and neurodivergent who are often left out of important conversations and decisions. This space will provide these groups and their allies a place to gather, share their experiences, and help each other flourish at every stage of their security/hacker journey. We will hold presentations, lightning talks, Q&A sessions, as well as activities such as backdoor and breaches, lock picking, and hacking workshops.
