So I was reading the 2 new introduction posts and remember making the same type of mistake. Perhaps I could volunteer to send out private messages to the new recruits if we couldn’t automate the process.(or already have an email automation process) I believe by default that PM notification is displayed upon page refresh. I think this might help to ward off commonly asked question a bit better, and inform new users of general board culture.
In addition, perhaps commandments would be a fun way of designing these tips. Here are a few I have thought up.
Commandments of DC Forums
- Thou shalt not introduce thyself.
- Thou shalt Search and Google before asking questions, for they are good.
- Thou shalt not heckle the goons.
- Thou shalt not ask to learn Hax0r.
- Thou shalt not be an ass.
Either way, this could turn into an interesting thread.
