Yea, both Siviak and L0nd0 wanted it to get up and running as well, but this "chris" guy hasn't done anything with it. I haven't even heard from him on the PoC Mailing list.

hackajar, it has been in motion for some time:) Them seeing that there was people waiting to get involved moved for the motion. :) Congrats on the site up, i think they need some webmaster to do a complete site though so if yer one for html shoot the info email some info.

He's not :) LV2600 is at the Palms Casino, no clue who runs that. I ran the NevadaUnderground meetings in Las Vegas while I lived there which had a good crowd of people, when I left there the meetings didn't last long then someone started LV2600 at a Casino :D Chris is a cool kat, he's done quite a bit with groups and organizations locally, hes technically enhanced LoL and hes always up for projects and doing new shit. Should be a fun gathering around that way. :)

The dc702.org site is up with general information.

The delay has been in part a result of a lack of web and graphic sources (both flaked), not hosting as some have suggested.
Those who are interested in being a part of getting the site going, please contact me.

I am very open to ideas and so on for the site and upcoming meetings.

The first meeting is set for Saturday, September 20th 9pm near UNLV.
This is not set as a permanent site, suggestions are welcome!

There should be WIFI available for our use.
The exact location will be sent to those who email, and possibly posted shortly before the meeting, or you can war drive the UNLV area to find us!

Over the last several years I have attended the meetings of some other Vegas groups, often with few attendees and little direction.
I appreciate every ones excitement for this group, and look forward to some great meetings. I hope to put some good resources behind the group, but definitely hope to have assistance in doing so.

Oh.... I have nothing to do with lv2600, those who have been around for the last 8 years will probably know me when they see me.

I did get home at midnight last night, and try to get something up ASAP cuz people were getting pissy.... I did forget to spell check it, in fact I started to get messages while adding the additional text.

Additionally I wanted the meeting location to: Not have video survellance by default, have caffiene close at hand, and run an open AP under our control on something more than a cable modem.

Sounds cool, wish you guys the best of luck. But don't worry about the Video Survelliance too much. There a camera's everywhere these days, and as long as your not doing anything illegal then it shouldn't matter. Moreover, you might end up having some local LEO's come to your meeting just for information purposes, so having video camera's wouldn't matter in that sense.

Near UNLV sounds fine, so long as it's not at Roma's, I **** hate that place, too many wanabe's and never were. Though this is coming from what I saw 1 1/2 years ago, maybe the scene has changed.

yep local for close to 30 years.

I'd like to meet somewhere besides a coffee shop also. In 1992, I founded LVNORML and had monthly meetings at cafe coppia, which is a block from Roma. The vibe @ coffy shop meetings is always bizzaro because of all the eavedroppers, but then again there is nothing like a free meeting room.

Im not spooked about cameras, I just don't understand the location choices of some other groups.... does everything in this town have to happen in damn casino!

Were not at Roma's... I've never spent time there, but there is previous history with the looser upstairs, so that isn't an option.

Im a little concerned that we may (hopefully) be to big for what ever normal crowd is at the location, but there is an alternative on property so we can move anywhere within WIFI range. If anyone has issues with the location host, be patient and let me know.... were not married to them and wont be offended by the comments, but they have a T that we can use half of. Other options were less commercial (like parking lots) unless we don't want connectivity. So for now it seemed fine.

On attendance: I gotten a few emails already and feel better that it wont me and one other guy standing around starring at each other.

The policy on location announcement is not set in stone, and will be a meeting point, but im not interested in lurkers or making life easier for any spys out there (other non dc groups, Law Enf., freaky (JK)). Not that they wont be there, or aren't welcome, but for now the tell a friend system seemed fine.
I can appreciate being anon but unless you inviable whats the point, our face recognition software will match you anyways... (kidding).
