For the record there will be at least two females attending Cooncon. On a male to female ratio, this will beat Defcon by a mile. :>

Shame you guys dont live in a free state, I'd love to come down and bring some toys to fix your racoon problem..

Not to be a rule stickler, but ya'll may want to make sure you have valid CA hunting licenses. Varmits do not require tags, but the shooter must hold a valid license. Varmits include Racoons, Coyotes, some squirels (some species are off limits during certain times the year), rabbits (jack rabbits, all year, check local regs for cotton tail), and a few others. As far as bear goes, make sure you have something that can bring it down, and you better have a tag or if the Game Warden finds out, you're in a world of shit (up to 5 or 10 years for poaching bear and a ton of fines).

Noid, all that hunting license stuff is perfectly valid if you are in the national forest or on public land. But the only critters that can be taken MUST be on my property. That way it is all good and legal. I got the blessing of animal control and the sheriff. Thankfully I have enough land to stay safe.

Having a hunting license would tend to show that one is a responsible firearms owner if any questions do arise however.

Let me tell ya..it saved my ass a few years ago. I'll tell ya the story sometime..but ya, having a hunting license lends you instant credibility in a situation where you may be on the line about something..

Does that mean you wanna come down? This is CoonCon, not Coon Hunt. Everyone here is a designated schnauzer guard.
