  • What website can you not live without?

We all have our secret links which we trade at Defon, but until then, post here the sites that everyone needs to know exist.

    Here's my contribution:

Here is a good site for finding news articles all summed up and on one site, and it has tickers.

i hope posting this doesnt get me shot

lets face it..we all hate windoze but we all love warez

      especially if.....

      1. It comes from a site that has no pop-up ads

      2. The filez are hosted on hella fast servers

      3. Everything is full version, non cracked retail appz

      4. The few porno banners that are on the site don't turn your stomach.

I use WS FTP Pro when I'm in windoze and FOSI always makes sure that I have the latest version.

      I love this guy

**URL removed by moderator. Please don't post warez links here!! Sorry! The name is still available for those with google-fu.

I normally wouldn't consider posting a warez link in a non-warez forum but the thread was all aboot links you can't live without. For 5 years running this has been one of mine.

      L8r! :)

          newsgroups....bleh

you just like newsgroups because they remind you of forums and bulletin boards

          :)

They have never been my forte' (i have always preferred super secret FTP's or good ole IRC)

for binaries that is...for general conversation or a good flame war NNTP or V-Bulletin and UBB can't be beat.

          Peace:)

that is the beauty of so much chaos, most isps don't filter the .test areas... though CoX doesn't filter any of the groups that have the gray stuff... but I don't bother with FTP or WWW because they get found and overloaded quicker than it is worth...
I don't believe I have ever posted on the newgroups, except maybe more than 4 times and that was for a legit discussion regarding something or another.

Ahh, to google one must gather all inner strengths and focus it towards the technique of search. But this site is far too common for me too post, even though it is pretty much _the_ homepage on all my systems.

I especially visit http://www.iexbeta.com to gain extra all-important Windows insights. The site is probably the most updated, first-to-be-there reporting sites for windows beta software, unless you work for Microsoft development or lurk on dalnet like an nutcase.
if it gets me nowhere, I'll go there proud; and I'm gonna go there free.

Not a big deal... but we are a target so we're taking steps to keep things legit. Perhaps I'll set up a DCF specific newsgroup server that we can all connect to. That would let us share things like that.

I posted way back in 1995 and it ended up getting me some work out of it, don't knock it!

Usenet rocks for so many different things...it's still the greatest.

I remember back when you wanted pretty pictures, you had to pull 'em down and uudecode them manually on my old shell account....

Some of you hinted at it, but none of you directly said it.
