tracking IP adresses to specific location

I am using Yahoo Messenger to chat with friends. I think that some of my friends are playing jokes on me poseing as other people. I have a website that most of them have signed into leaving me their IP Addresses. How can I get their IP address from Yahoo messenger, so I can compare to the know addresses I have so I can figure out who is who? I read a reply about going to the command but I can't find that option in yahoo messenger. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
