I think this new money is acually easyer to forge, cause all those color just distract the eye, they look like monopoly money to me, not that I don't mind having them.

If I did not get my new bills from an ATM I'd have goven it back. The bills are so new that no one knows a real from a fake.

Try passing a Susan B. Agony dollar at a fast food store and watch the face the kid makes!

Or a 2 dollar bill (yes kids, there was such a thing). I had a friend have a 'whos on first' type experience with a Burger King employee, the manager, a security guard, and himself while trying to buy food with one..

As someone from a country with monopoly colored money, I resemble that remake CK, careful :)

Up here our money is all sorts of colors, and forgery is a problem most definatly, but as the article states, it was detected because of the new features. Had it been a traditional greenback, it would have likely passed mustard.

Welcome to the rest of the world America, Monochromatic currency is easy to copy. Try living in a country with a coin $1 and $2 denominations, it's insane.

The cost of first class postage alone would make it about 15 cents on the dollar.

Haven't seen one of those in circulation for a while... people generally grab onto them and keep them as keepsakes... but out of oddity, I did receive one the other night from a customer. She _was_ one of our *older* customers however.
if it gets me nowhere, I'll go there proud; and I'm gonna go there free.

Heh...it would cost more to send than its worth...I was going to convert the little bit that I had left over from a recent trip back to American dollars...wasn't worth the time for the $1.00 that I'd end up getting back.

Uh... The last run of $2 bills was in 1995. The first ones were in 1976 for the bicentennial celebration, but they're still in current circulation.

I seem to remember that there were also red and blue $2 bills, however. This may be my failing memory, but it would mean that the new $20 is not the first non-greenback in circulation. Anyone else remember this? I'd really rather not think that I'm hallucinating the episode.
