It's just another in a long series of marks next to my name, I'm sure.

IMHO the terrorists, if they where even involved have won as far as I am concerned, terrorism=inspiring fear...well we got that one down, and also our libertys the thing the country is based on...no longer exsist to a point....I blame said american president.
No, the president is not to blame. The people are, for not bothering to take an interest in what's happening to them and use the system to their advantage. In short: this is largely caused by apathy - the Roman term was 'Panem et Circenses', which translates to 'Bread and Circuses'. As long as everyone's fed and in front of the TV, they don't need to give a shit.

I grew up in a country with a terrorism problem. I went to school in another one with a terrorism problem, where I happened to be from the country that was part of said terrorism problem. And I haver had to take my fucking shoes off before I could get on an airplane because some dipshit with an IQ of around 9, a white polyester shirt, and two weeks' training decided that I was a threat to national security.

We're letting this happen to ourselves, and it's going to continue to happen for as long as we piss, moan, and complain while not voting, not writing to our congressmen and -women, and generally giving in to the victim mentality.

While they may be required to follow up on everything, that is not teh same as driving to teh persons house. Running a searc on the tag is enough if it checks out and teh owners are reputable.

Also, the Sheriff is not going to follow up at night knocking on the back door with a flashlight, without backup. They are required to approch a house during "regular" hours and use the front door. Cops are also bound by laws and without probable cause (gun shots, screaming, reports from neighbors) cannot go "prowling" as described by law, and what the article described the cop as doing.

      It's hog wash.

You hit the nail on the head my boy.

I refuse to fear. I walk and travel where I feel like. I refuse to be scared of Osama, Commies, or anyone else. I won't live in fear.

Because, as you said, if I did, I would be letting them win.

        I refuse.

I wish I could agree with you Shatter, but I can't.
If it is bullshit, then they have the store managers in on it too. When I called the store, I did not specify the software, just the incident. The manager promptly responded "Oh, you are talking about the lady and her kid that came in about the flight sim software.". He confirmed the story, then got really nervous and referred me to the corporate headquarters. He also said that is was the state police, not the sheriff they called.

Of course, it could be BS, but I doubt it. I think it is a case where it is just too damn hard to believe that we are slipping that far into a herd mentality. I get the same feeling reading this story as I got when you had tons of mindless sheeple on TV saying "They WANT to give to some freedoms for safety"...
I guess one could always call Henry and Julie Olearcek and ask them...
BTW.. it is off the web site now, you will have to use Google's cache to view it.

I agree.. Osama and his merry bunch of douchbags said their goal was to strike fear into the hearts of the US, and cause them to change their llives and live in fear. I don't want to see him proved right, so I refuse to stay hid under the bed with my duct tape and plastic. Fuck that... Life goes on as normal.

I'm sure that the store did call. That doesn't surprise me a bit. I'm talking about the rest of it. The details are sketchy.

It reeks of teh peopel the media hunts down to find to say things like:

"I don't mind the increased police, I feel safe."

"Yes, it takes longer to get to teh plane, but we can all feel safer."

"This is something we all must go through to insure our nations security."

I concieved a new grapic to help illustrate the new Airline color code profiling. I'll be posting it later.

                          That is a beautiful article.

Last time I checked it was the perscription drug Lithium used for speed, not battery lithium. Thats' priceless.

That's would be like limiting the sale of salt because a terrorist used sodium and water to make a bomb.

Anyone else old enough to remember pre-glastnot Russia when they had supply and grocery rationing? If you don't know hat I'm talking about, watch Moscow on the Hudsen (Robin Williams).

Do the batteries have to be new to be used as a WMD? Will depleteled batteries pose a security risk, such as depleted uranium?

If so then Walmart ought to have us turn in our dead batteries when we purchase new ones, and we can purchase on a 1 for 1 exchange.

Oh and they still sell GUNS too.

They do charge a $5 fee to get rid of the old car battery when you get a new one.

As for the lithium, it is a different deal then the prescription meds. Meth cookers use it as a catylist for making the meth. Cold medicine, etc is also limited. (it is still stupid as shit.. just send in several folks, etc. )
Fuck, the local bottling company, which distributes water in 5 gallons glass carboys, will not sell empty glass containers for that reason. I use them to brew beer, but they swear they are a tool of crime. Of course, they will sell it to you if you buy it full of water.. I guess they don't think meth makers will think to drink the water..

When I buy new tires they charge me to take the old ones. And they always have USED tires for sale. Hmmm.
