The other day I found a couple of strips of metal from a windshield washer blade in a parking lot. I picked them up to throw them away, but I noticed that they were reasonably rigid but flexible.
Using these strips, I made a snake pick, a half-diamond pick, and a torsion bar in the course of 3 hours with just a couple of files and vice grips. They work amazingly well, I've tried them out on some Kwikset deadbolts and door locks, laminate Master locks, a brass Black&Decker lock (Kwikset), and a variety of laminate and brass CHICOMM locks. The only thing I haven't been able to open is a brass Master Magnum padlock, which I think is the type of padlock they used in the lock picking finals - it generally is a bear to pick.
I've attached a pic. The ones on the top are the set I used as a template, the silver ones on the bottom are the ones I made.
