I would suggest this little place on the other side of the Hard Rock, called Key Largo.Originally posted by sultanaDo we have to stay at the AP (and by stay i mean sleep) or can we pay the 80.00 reg. and sleep somewhere else? but still come for all activityyyys?
Rooms are cheap, happy hour is 24/7, there is a cheap little diner, liquor store, nice pool and jacuzzi.
I stayed there last month, and found it very adequate!
and a wet bar in every room, to boot!
If you do not wanna spend the $ for the AP

80$ price tag.
Its not that bad really it was 75$ last year so its only a 5$ difference. Be thankful it doesn't cost like blackhat does!! As for staying at the alexis park, there are a hell of a lot cheaper hotels in las vegas to choose from :).

I find extreme enjoyment in the after hours activities at the AP, well after the conferences are over. If you have a room at the hotel you get to stay as long as you want. If there is an incident and you are not registered at the hotel, the AP goons may close the pool or event and shoo away the non-registered folks.
Is this the longest that Defcon has been at one hotel?Comment

The Key Largo is REALLY nasty. The quality is right up there with Terribles. If you don't mind staying in sleazy motels that deserve to be rented by the hour, then I suppose it's ok.Originally posted by AggonALas Vegas Advisor

I stayed there, the rooms themselves are all THAT bad. The actual building needs a good wash though. If you bring some cleaning solvents, its not bad. :)Originally posted by octalpusThe Key Largo is REALLY nasty. The quality is right up there with Terribles.
