If the AP itself gave the confirmation then you should be good. Though I would tell anyone who is going to use Orbitz to make sure they do what LosT did and confirm with the Hotel itself.

Orbitz and other travel agencies purchase huge chunks of rooms from hotels at a reduced cost. They mark it up a bit and sell it to you. Unfortunently, the systems that run from places like priceline, orbitz, expedia, travelocity, etc are not corrlated with the hotel's system. Always book through the hotel. It may cost you a bit more every night, but you're entitled to way better service and sometimes it's actually cheaper to book through the hotel directly.

        Figures.

Yes, the email came from Orbitz today saying that the place was overbooked. *sigh*

I am only upset by the fact that the Alexis Park had confirmed my reservation *directly* twice.

It took them long enough to find the error. Damn it.

Fignuts! Caveat emptor : Population Tire.

Ok, after some telephone tomfoolery I have this info:

If you booked AP through Orbitz you are screwed. Call the AP reservation line and ask to speak to John Koffman. He is pretty polite, but he will explain the snafu. Orbitz blames AP, AP blames Orbitz. It doesn't really matter. EVEN if you confirmed with AP directly, you still won't have a room, just FYI.

On a side note: St. Tropez has a few rooms left IF YOU CALL AND BOOK over the phone. The website won't allow you to make a reservation. Hopefully there won't be a problem THIS time. I wonder if it's a good thing that the number to the Tropez has 666 in it? Nevermind.

The words RESERVATION and CONFIRMATION just don't mean what they used to.

As for Orbitz.com - impurae matris prolapsus ab alvo~
