From a competition standpoint it would be interesting to have a 'escape artist' contest. At the very least it would be nice to learn from a magic/party trick standpoint (I fully agree that attemtpting to remove restraints put on by a cop is not a good idea)

Though the only way I'd ever be locked in handcuffs in public at Defconis with a very large goon standing beside me making sure no-one decides to introduce me to the pool at that moment.

I know some guys like V1ru5 know handcuffs well, someone want to see if he can do an informal talk about them?

If this is the same V1ru5 which was part of the sf2600 meetings, he offered a presentation with 2 or 3 other people on lock picking. They covered handcuffs, hiding lockpicks, some of the more advanced locks, and other stuff. During that year, I think we had 2 or 3 lock picking talks. One was newbie track (or whatever it was called) and the others were more advanced.

He has a good story about getting out of cuffs that were placed on him that he told us once. If he speaks, see if we can get him to tell this story again. :-)

No, you'll have to ask H3 on that.

*It's still to bad Netisto couldn't fit in the chastity belt, I think it would have been fun to have him wear it in public.*

We would need someone who wears like a size 2 through 6 to wear the belt.

            (On topic of warded picks)

I gave out many of these wrded lock keys to goons, people on the Thursday "locksmith shop field trip", and a few others.

NOTE: ck3k said he found a warded lock for which the sample keys/picks did not work. In such a case, there are likely 2 issues:
            1) There is another ward in place that was not ground-off (this would be obvious if the key/pick did not freely spin in the lock)
            2) The latch release was moved to another location in the keyway

If #1 is the case, then apply skills with impressioning
If #2 is the case, you can shave the pick/key down to only have one thin bittingand then locate the latch release position in the keyway

If you received one from me, and have questions about the above, PM me.
