  • WiFiFoFum?

Anyone know anything about WiFiFoFum ? It is the only stumbler that I have gotten to run on my pocket pc. I have tried ministumbler and pocketwarrior with no luck (they don't see my card). Anyways what the question is, does anyone know what format the gps logs are saved in on the WFFF program or how to convert them to an .ns1 file. I can open the file in notepad so I am assuming that it is a text file?
I have searched google and it keeps getting me almost there but not quite, so any help would be appreciated.

If it helps I have an iPaq 2210 with mobile 2003 v1.10 and a Linksys WCF12 card with Linksys drivers. I have tried the intersil driver and senao driver and neither have helped in minstumbler or pocketwarrior finding my card.

    Kree,

Started using WiFiFoFum on my new iPaq (4150) as I couldn't get miniStumbler to work. The logs for WiFiFoFum are quite simply CSV (Comma Separated Values) files and so can be imported into pretty much anything. When I finish work today I am planning on writing a small app to convert the logs into various formats and will probably post it when done.

Take a look at the data in the file, it's pretty self explanatory. Each line is a different network and the logged data is in the following order:

WEP Encryption (None = WEP Encryption OFF)
    Network Type
    SSID (Network / AP Name)
    MAC
    RSSI
    Radio Channel
    Date/Time First Seen
    Date/Time Last Seen
    Latitude
    Longitude

Will be looking at the .ns1 files to see how they translate.

    Hope this helps

I don't really have anything of value to add to this thread other than to say wififofum is a godsend. great app that finally works on my e755.
just don't like the "radar" screen thing.
haven't been able to use it with gps yet tho.

I figured out the .csv part and tried to upload the file to gpsvisulizer which did not work. It said that it was not a compatible file, so I figured I would import the wififofum log to excel and try to format it there to a more netstumbler way or something more compatible, just need a netstumbler log which someone is in the process of sending. I would be interested in tring out a program if you do get one done.

how soon do you need conversion support? i can add it into warglue.. but I'm really backlogged with stuff and will be lucky to get a release done before defcon, let alone support for additional formats... definately interested though
if it gets me nowhere, I'll go there proud; and I'm gonna go there free.

Converge, is warglue your own app? if so where can I find it to try out?

            Kree,

If you could send me said NetStumbler log I would appreciate it as I've just opened my [NetStumber] log and it's empty (was hoping on the off-chance it would store at least something).

Isn't warglue for kismet? If I am mistaken it would be great to have conversion support for WFFF before defcon. Would be greatly appreciated.

the new rev of warglue will support:
                . kismet
                . wi-scan
                . ns1
                . airmagnet
                . html
                . <insert your audit file here>

I just don't know how much I will have done before I fly out for defcon.. focusing on other things right now. Send me a WFFF log (preferably as robust as possible) and I'll see about adding support.

Back to the original point of the thread: I have just looked at the GPSVisualizer site (specifically the help files) and realised that we have been barking up the wrong tree. It would be much, much simpler just to export the WFFF logs in a .csv readable by GPSVisualizer. Have looked at this and looks VERY easy.

Unfortunately I am currently at work and the rest of code is at home. so I will take a look later (if my son will let me ;) )

Enjoy the con everyone, safe in the knowledge that I will be stuck here in dreary old England with no Plane Ticket!!

                  All the best

                      This should answer your question:

                      http://www.worldwidewardrive.org/dc12wd/README.txt
                      perl -e 'print pack(c5, (41*2), sqrt(7056), (unpack(c,H)-2), oct(115), 10)'

noop, the question was, is warglue going to support the airmagnet format for the conversion to ns1.

Sorry, misunderstood the question. I thought you meant for the contest. My fault.

i am still trying to get a tool or two out for conversion before defcon, but that amount of time is dwindling fast and can make NO PROMISES. Personally, I would not bank on it (assumed for contest usage?) and would look to other existing/tried utilities/conversion options.. I will not release something until I have tested it to my satisfaction, so as to avoid the conversion issues of last year. this year the ball falls in each drivers court. however; send me a log that I can work off of (zip/tar, <converge@lostboxen.net>) from the version you are going to run. If I can I'll try to surprise you... otherwise we'll all just have to drink beers by the pool and laugh off good times
if it gets me nowhere, I'll go there proud; and I'm gonna go there free.

I have send u the file and will of course us kismet as my first opt of weapon. I think it will be wise to publicized the version of kismet u tested the conversion with, just to avoid last year extra work for u.
