B&W ball :: Your thoughts::

Im looking for real feedbcak on the B&W ball , what did you like ?
was DJ (insert name) good or bad?
anything you would like to see or hear in next years B&W

While I agree with A, I can understand why they were not present: the Minibosses tend to draw a completely seperate crowd than the DJs. In past years, I have attended the ball simply for the Minibosses and then left. Likewise, the room is filled with bored people waiting for the DJs while the Minibosses perform (which isn't really fair to them).

Since more people are in attendance for the DJs, Defcon was probably right in dropping them[1].

I had no idea till i got the play list that the minibosses wernt playing I also wanted to see them

I liked it. Are the DJs allowed to sell CDs of their work while they are playing?

I digged it. It was a great place to just kick back and people watch. Did anyone else catch the guy dressed sort of like Angus Young dancing at the beginning?

The party was getting down, until Jesus and his band of merry men showed up and started playing kickball. I hope some people have pics of that.

Yea if the DJs want to sell a mix we have no problems w/ it .

I agree her style is constanlty evolving ( thats why we keep her on the list )
after all we refer to her as the " resident DJ " of defcon .

Does anyone know the name of the DJ that was spinning around 1:30am. He had a shaved head and was on the left hand side of the room. I think he wore glasses as well. What he was playing seemed like hardcore to me.

That would be Chris Klank I elieve. He was on a bit later though, second to the last DJ. He rocks.

I was also srprised (in a good way) to see that Regenerator played con. They're a long running Goth/Industrial/Synthpop band that's really good. They play a lot of songs that get club time but nobody knows who they are.

Bink as always outdid himself with the sound and lighting. I wish we had systems half as good at the clubs her ein SF I work/play at.

Thank you for having me back, Bink. The Black and White ball is my favorite set of the entire year.

I will try and have my set on my site (www.dj-jackalope.com) soon (thanks to zziks or Bink, one of the two!), i have been trying to get some server space since my home server is kinda full. Just keep checking back.

Next year: depending how things go down, I would like to have a table in the vendor's room with CDs, shirts, records, you name it, of the defcon djs, not just the black and white ones for sale to take home.
