I've wrote alot of applications in Java and C++, Not Visual C++, Is Java More Secure then C++ or vise a versa. Would you Design and Devolop a Biometric Application In C++ or Java.

If you really want to wake him up Sambo ask Bascule what his favorite Bittorrent client is.

Also in regards to the thread how can you say which language is basically more secure than another. Java is safer with memory allocation but C optimizes RAM better. So it all comes down to personal preference I say play with what you like and then move on to bigger things. Everything has inherent flaws in it, just ask Bill Gates but asking which is better is like asking is BSD better than Linux. (pick your distribution) Certain OS' do certain things better than other OS' just like languages. Why programmers write different languages is to correct mistakes they think are abuses in another language or because they think a different language can do something better than another can.

Any CPU with page protections will render a C++ program more or less as "safe" as Java, provided that program doesn't do something horrible like use mprotect() to mark the heap executable.

Hey Bascule with PDTP what are some of the security measures that are going to be implemented?
              Did Everquest teach you that?

Yeah I Remember some of the talk just not verbatim. I found the talk at http://pdtp.org/pdtp-defcon-talk.ppt. Thanks, I should have just checked the website first.

i would rather design any application with assembly, well, its security would not be a problem for me.

so for those who are in trouble with languages, think assembly.

i mean what i said but not suggesting that if you have to choose between java and assembly, you would choose c++, or choose java if you're confused between c++ and assembly

I've reread that 5 times and I still have no idea what you mean. How did you manage to declarify a previous post?

                          It's not important.

                          He essentially said:

If you have to choose between Java and assembly, then he is not going to recommend that you use C++. Likewise, if you have to choose between C++ and assembly, then he is not going to recommend that you use Java.

I'm going to assume that he felt bad for straying off of the topic by bringing in a third language.
