As one of the guys in 404 told me, at least the MPAA seems to know web design...unlike the FBI.

                In Laymen's terms:

There are websites that provide legal downloads. This is not one of them.
                Dear websurfer,

There are other websites, which pay us, that we will let you download from. This is not one of them. Please go to one which gives us money.

This website has been permanently shut down by court order because it facilitates the illegal downloading of copyrighted motion pictures.
We sued these guys because they gave something away for free, librairies are next on our to-do list, unless they also pay us.

The illegal downloading of motion pictures robs thousands of honest, hard-working people of their livelihood, and stifles creativity.
We are greedy. We pay all our employees too much, especially the actors. We know that the movie only cost us a certain amount, and that the DVDs you buy only cost 5 cents to make. We just enjoy charging 20 dollars per movie to fill our swimming pools with your hard-earned pennies, while the person who really wrote the movie and did all the work lays in some slum happy that we paid them enough money to last a few weeks.

Illegally downloading movies from sites such as these without proper authorization violates the law, is theft, and is not anonymous. Stealing movies leaves a trail. The only way not to get caught is to stop.
We had this law made so we could all become rich off your backs and there is nothing you can do about it (Imagine an evil laugh). We do not really know how to track a person who downloaded a program and it is out of our hands with BitTorrent due to the type of client, but we will threaten you so you become afraid like the little sheep we know you are.

Thank you, have a nice day.

This one isn't really fair. First of all, paying their employees "too much" money isn't something I'm going to worry about. Heave forbid if your employer were to pay you excessive amounts of money. Second, DVDs are cheap but movies are expensive. I'm sure they would be more than happy to sell you blank DVDs for a dollar rather than the $10-15 (not $20) for a movie. As for the real talent getting ripped off, I'd like to see some proof. We aren't talking about the RIAA, where such things do happen (depending on your perspective), and production costs are lower while disc prices are the same.

Uh, except not buy entertainment items that aren't worth the cost...

I can track you when you use BitTorrent. The reason you are reasonably safe in such violations is that it is not worth the time and cost of prosecuting a significant percentage of the violators. Their actions are part of a scare campaign, but what would you do in their place?

Don't get me wrong: the industry is not perfect. The MPAA trying to get paid for creating their recent releases is not one of their problems, however.

My employer pay me too much? Yeah that will be the day when a public servant(EMS, Fire...so fourth) actually make over 25 grand a year, especially since we risk our lives every time we get in the vehicles (contraction of diseases, risk of accidents from careless drivers...)

My belief is that a football player should not make 3 million per year and a movie star should not make the same for 1 movie. Things are WAY overpriced and it hurts our economy.

As for being tracked by BT. I never said it could not be done. I said THEY did not know how. They are busier trying to scare people off because it is a much cheaper tactic than spending hours in a room with a bunch of computers tracking various sites.
