Hey i'm a complete n00b to programming, i just started a couple of days ago. At first i wanted to learn how to hack into stuff then realised you need to be good at programming to do so. A website suggested learning python first, then vb/java, then c, then perl or something, is this good advice??? And how long will it take to learn each roughly to a decent standard. I'm pretty intelligent
i hope, not to blow my own trumpet. And i study further maths at school, so i know about "decision" maths (algorithms, routing problems etc) and complex no's etc. Also does anyone fancy teaching me to program via correspondance? Can ne1 who is now an experienced programmer give me an idea of how they started off and the timescale for learnage too?
