Hehe Cot, you know I never have any expectations, then I can't be disappointed.

I only expected to learn enough to make my computer completely impregnable to spam from AOL...and hair loss ads...but not pROn. Definately not pROn....

I really came over here to know how to hack (malicious manner). Like I thought there's like a manual on hacking here.
But lurking for months before and after joining, made me understand what hacking trully means and that you cannot really teach someone to hack. That this activity will take time and interest.
Now, Im just here to enjoy and learn... may it be computer related or not :)

"I came for the waters. ... I was misinformed."

Truthfully, Blackwave invited me to come here and participate. I lurked for a fair amount of time, and already knew some of the regulars from the NS Forums.

To have debates with intelligient minds, so far that hasn't been a dissapointment. But there are a multitude of useless threads, so it's hard to find a good one.

Crap. I was told to visit the forum in lieu of community service, and you were promised tacos? Why is it that I don't get these kinds of incentives? I feel cheated man!

Lots of socializing on the forums... kind of funny though. People who know each other from the con socialize on the forums, and people at the con seem to hang out with people from the forums. Its like needing experience to get a job but needing a job to get experience-- well, not really.

Newbie bashing? Naw, I see more in the way of asshat bashing than newbie bashing, but maybe I am not looking hard enough. :-)

                          Better poll survey:

What is your involvment in Computers and/or Computer Security Everyday?
                          * I am a security professional
                          * I'm not a security professional (I just play one on weekends)
                          * My significant other is a secuirty professional
or (hopefully:) I'm looking for a significant other that's a security professional
                          * I'm not at all into computer secuirty, but you guys are cool to hang out with
                          * I'm trying to be a security professional
                          * I'm a Fed just watching you guys
                          * I'm a N00b looking for someone to hack this email account for me
                          * None of the above (State your grevance below)

                          *NOT REAL THEAD HIJACK*

It just seems that some people are not here to discuss computer security and the related. Some want to, but get scared away by how the asshat's are treated. Some are ligitimate, but word their questions wrong. Some are n00B's and get rightly bashed.

I think a lot of people coming in here are suprised of the ratio of computer security *relivent* topic's to general topic's.

                          /end craz'ed bannable rant

Why not start a new poll with those questions?

It sounds like it might be interesting.
