Can't speak for the chicken pot pie, but for the carrot soup it was a condiment and blended into the soup nicely with a good salty flavor.

Here's a quick snack with Feta
Take some Pita bread, brush on some olive oil, add some sun dried tomatoes (chopped fine) , add some crushed black olives, a little minced garlic, top with Feta cheese, and bake in a 350 degree oven until the cheese is melted and just starts to brown. Enjoy this with your favorite wine. This recipe was one of my step-fathers favorites, his family had an olive grove in Italy. According to the story he told me, this was the original "Italian Pizza" before it was Americanized in the late 40's.

        Nope, it works fine.

I asked Mom for her recipe. She doesn't really measure anything, so you just go with what tastes right.

        Mother Normal's chicken pie

        You need:
Cooked chicken, cut into bite size chunks (Mom likes to use leftovers)
1 can cream of celery soup
        Feta cheese
        celery
        carrots
        onions
        potatos
        pre made pie crust

Boil the veggies until they are about half done (not mushy) and combine with the chicken, cheese and soup. Add salt and pepper to taste. Dump the whole mess in to the pie crust, slap the top on and bake til golden brown.

Don't get me wrong, I love feta cheese...but in chicken pot pie?

...This coming from someone who likes bologna and peanut butter sandwiches, heh.

I know it sounds odd, but it really is tasty. I though it was weird when she first told me, but it works. Much better than some of her first attempts, took her a while to stumble on to the right combination.

That was why I stressed original "Italian Pizza". I too believe that pizza originated in China and was brought to Italy (possibly by Marco Polo?). Pizza made it's way to the U.S. at the end of WWII with the returning G.I's. Off the cuff...Pizza is a corruption of the name of the crust "Pita".
