But, if you have to try out a MMORPG, I too suggest playing WoW.

I don't play the games, but I'm interested in the technology. Are these games based on High Level Architecture (HLA), or another type of distributed technology? Do you have to download a Runtime Infrastructure to play them?

Gamers do not suck balls man. That is steriotypical and I was under the impression these forums were against that. MMORPGs are also a decent way to spend time. The point behind those games are not to find friends, but rather to have fun. No differant than civil war reenactments.

I myself, play simulation, rpg, mmorpg, rts, fps and pretty much anything else if it interests me. One game I got a kick out of because it was humerous was Uplink, which is considered both a simulation and an rpg.

I do not, play World of Warcraft, as I view it a cheap copy of EverCrack. I am considering guildwars, however.

the issue with your argument is that pople who do civil war reenactments DO suck balls..

Nothing like Uplink to give you that "Wow,I just haxored teh Gibson" feeling.

I too recently have been bitten by World of Warcrack. If I wasnt working from home, ol Loknar wouldnt have made it to lvl41 so easily...

Somewhere in helpful tips, should be a suggestion to plan meetings, laundry, and other crucial activies for Tuesday, when the server is down. heh

                          Killrog - Alliance: Loknar
                          Killrog - Horde: Baalzebubba

If you don't play it, then do you have a basis for comparison? (not saying you don't, just wondering how this statement is different from 'gamers suck balls')

I've heard it said (and having played Guild Wars, have verified) that the character templates on appearance between Guild Wars and Everquest are very similar (considering the Dev team histories it is to be expected). At least on World of Warcraft I don't see a lot of people who all look exactly the same. While the visual aestethics of Guild Wars are quite nice, the character visual appearance limitations are sufficiently irritating that I haven't logged back on since.

                            For other WoW players:
I am considering starting over in a different realm considering that my realm is full of lvl 60 chars and grouping is severly limited. I have found that the Skywall realm has the lowest number of lvl 60s and the highest number of characters < lvl 20. If anybody is interested, we could transfer over en masse.

I can compare it because I have played it before.
