It'd make sense if it could break only DES, which we all know has shown to be rather weak in many respects...

Seems to me like the 'worst hacker movies' .... are all if not most hacker movies. A real one would be too boring for the mass majority of america... (unless it stars angelina jolie ). A new defcon contest maybe... Who can name the most lines from the movie 'hackers'... or play it on mute in a big hall and have everyone shout the words. heh.

Play it MST3k-style with muted sound and select people to play certain characters for each scene or 10 minutes and make up a new story.

That could actually be fun. Either rewrite the whole story or give it the Rocky Horror treatment. Not like it could get worse.

Maybe make it a contest. Give 10 teams, each one different segment of the film, and have them make up new lines for the characters in that scene.

Players with best audience response win! :-)

That is a great idea. How much time would they have? Giving them a little time beforehand to work on it might produce the best results.

An hour should be enough time for most... too much pre-planning and people would just not show up.

Another variation could be "Who's line is it?" and techie/hacker topics could be required. ]:>
