Yes it is true I never showed up. Did not look like I got a good welcome on the board here so I moved on.

Y'know, this has kinda bothered me for the last day or so.

Yeah, you got some saddle-sores on your sack from folks because, well, you tried starting a meeting in an area where there was an existing meeting already going strong, which you had never attended and assumed dead. Okay, big deal. It happened, it's history. So why not turn up? It's not like you're getting death threats contingent on your presence. At least you'd actually be able to meet some of the local crowd and decide for yourself rather than write it off entirely without knowing.

Just my $0.02... Hell, I'm not even anywhere near Las Vegas.

A person commits a faux pas, and then gets admonished with a flame thrower. Social correction is part of culture. You either adapt, or become an outsider.

You made a mistake. You got toasted. Making mistakes without learning means more flaming, and then a complaint, "this board does more flaming than helping." There is a reason this is your perception.

Why could it be, that you want to start a second group, and not help the existig group? Could it be that you want to be in the spotlight? Could it be that you want the world to respect your autho-eh-tay? (authority)

There is talent here, but what talented people want to help someone who is disrespectful and inconsiderate?

I did do research before I posted my thread on the subject and found that other states and cities have multiple clubs in the same area code with no problem. It seem each focusing on a different area in the security field. No Vegas in not that big of a market for talented security professionals, IMHO, on my radio show I have interviewed many administrators for companies here and the show went pretty well for the listeners, but not so good for the guest. Sorry to them about that!

I see "hackajar" thing is Credit Cards which is perfectly fine and I do know a little about them but not enought to get into a disscussion with someone that does. My area is "Penetration Testing" and "Software Protection Schemes." I have paid a good lawyer to draft up some Contracts for me in "Vulnerability Testing" companies networks and do pretty well in that arena. I offer consultation in "demo software protection schemes" my strongest area of knowledge next to TCP/IP.

I post on many many security boards and help out all over the internet in any way I can. I love helping people with computers and teaching. I have posted a tutorial on AntiOnline and have made some good friends from their along with other boards I hang out on.

I am sorry if this turned into a short intro about me, but I don't believe I started this. I think someone said something about visiting my site and then changing their mind about me based on my site. Which that is ok, I guess apprearance is everything now days, people (human resource departments) believe what they see. If someone comes in with a certification they start saying, "HEY WE ARE SAVED" no more will we be hacked into. After all we now have someone that knows what their doing!!!

I still say we can meet on friendly terms "hackajar" if you are still interested. I will try to make it to the next meeting, but I do work for myself, so I have to take jobs when they are presented to me. I got bill, so it is impossible to turn them down. But anyway I will probably stop by your presentation.

You do realise that you've pretty much just destroyed any remaining shred of credibility you may have had here, right? Sorry, but JP's (still) a self-serving bitch - after, what, seven or eight years now? - and it's hard to take someone who confers any degree of worth upon that little assflap seriously. Note that this isn't a personal attack on you, but rather a comment about the company you're keeping.

For more information on Antionline's past, go here and read through some of the shit JP's pulled. And remember: this is only one particular organisation's run-in with him - he's a grade-A piece of shit, and there are a lot more people out there with very uncomplimentary things to say about him.

Well you might be right, and I don't even know this JP person. If you searched on my nick you would see I have only about 10 or so post their with only my one tutorial "which I still have to write a part 2 for." I will read the story posted about just to get an idea of what "SOMEONE" else thinks of this person. Even after reading this story I am sure there are plenty of people that think the guys and "ASS" for what ever reason, but as his site shows their is a big following of those that dont think so. And that is why we live in a free country "or as close as what can be considered free."

BUT, I am sure this could go on and on like this but I guess a choice has to be made. If it is posted that the people in this thread want me to move on and stop posting! No problem, I can do that. Someone just has to let me know that I have nothing to offer this board and I cant argue. It is not my board, my rules, or my site.

Some people can be hostile, but, as has been stated, the idea isn't to discourage participation. The idea is to encourage the "right kind" of participation. It is a system with a very strong sense of negative reinforcement and a very weak sense of positive reinforcement (otherwise known as a thankless job).

Well I thank you for the link to that article which lead me to other articles and even more. I think I might spend the night reading about this. As a security consultant this is very exciting interesting to me. I shall do my own research into this to see what I believe, after all I would only be just another opinion myself, but I also have my own security site were I try to help the industry out. And needless to say this is information for someone like me to understand and be able to provide creditable proof of anything I say about the site. After all it does have a hugh following I would up against "as far as creditability goes."

Like I mentioned before, me and a few friends have a honeynet I am just wondering if there is any information at all we can link to someone from that site?

I am going to have to get back to reading. I must say "I myself have learned something from this board which might have made all this worth it."

You probably weren't around when JP (aka John Vranesevich, founder of Antionline) was being a major boner a few years back. He's quietened down in the past few years, but he's still a tool. And a rat - yeah, he was turning people in to the feds at one point.

Anyway, I'm done with giving that cockholster any more regard. Let me put it to you this way: what do you think would happen to you on the Antionline forums if you were to post that link?

Oh, and just before I completely call it quits on this subject - Carolyn 'Crackwhore' Meinel is equally worthless, only for somewhat different reasons. Ask her about monitor port hacking sometime to see what I mean.

BTW just because I do the credit card thing, does not exclude me from other CyberSecurity hats. Stairing at a pice of plastic for three hours is not going to make me good at identifying security probems with the industry. Knowing the indusrty and applying computer security methods to the industry and seeing what shakes out does.

I will do that hackajar, and my schedule for Friday works out great for that. My only break for the day is right after your Credit Card presentation. I have about an hour and half before the next event which is "Passive Host Auditing."

If you have nothing planned I will introduce myself, but will probably be heading over to the food court in the store next door for a bit to eat. 4 hours of events I will probably be hungry.

Ok hackajar, sorry I missed your event but after my first event "Hacking Nmap" the day went pretty much down hill. It all started with the "Tent" ending up an hour behind normal schedule. I surely hope tomorrow goes better than today did.

The lines are extremely long but that is normal. Personally I think the "Hacking Nmap" should have been held in the "Tent" instead of the "Apollo."

I guess I will have to get to one of the meeting for use to meet. By the way do you have any slides posted on your site from your event? Or maybe a video, since I did see a video camera setup in the "Apollo" room.
