    Calling all/most/some women attending Defcon..

Defcon 13 is fast approaching and its time to organize the Girl Geek Meet 2.0 (non geeks are invited)

    Why: why not?

Discussion would be general chat and a project.

The project will require usage of sharp objects and film.

Time and location is dependent on how many want to participate.

oh sure... but non-girls aren't welcome... thats sexist!
If I had a nickle for every time someone offered me ten cents to keep my two cents to myself... I would be a rich man.

That didn't stop highwizard from replying, but perhaps the girls feel safer around him (for obvious reasons).

Also, I can see where this thread might be headed, and I'm pretty sure we have discussed the issue of girls singling themselves out based solely on the chance fate of a chromosome in the past. Unfortunately, I can't find the link to that thread.

A couple of years ago there was a dcgirls group on yahoo groups for this same reason - don't know what happened to it though

I seem to recall a bunch of females getting together and then one of them was really not to smart, she went by "Bikinigurl", she was sweet and nice and cute but I don't think she could spell PC. The fur flied and I have not seen as many females gathered again in the same place ever since.

This gathering is a good idea and I think it should continue!

For those who are planning to attend we will be assembling a paper camera. http://www.pinhole.cz/en/pinholecameras/dirkon_01.html

I will be needing RSVP's on this so I can figure out how many supplies I will need to bring and notify the higher ups how many people we can expect. (personally I expect 0 to show up).

"Why not"...Count me in; provided it doesn't conflict with LPCON3 schedule.

I shall be in attendance. Hope to see some of you from 1.0, as well as some new faces.

PS: good call on the pinhole camera. Shall we bring extra supplies?

I started that, kinda just faded away.

I guess we just ran out of stuff to talk about.

Plus, there really aren't that many geek girls out there to begin with. Or maybe there are, but most are in hiding, who can blame them.

Anyway, count me in, sounds like a really fun project. If you need glitter, sequins or shiny things let me know!

That would be cool. If I can find my pdf editing software I would modify the camera's logo with a much cooler Def Con logo.
