I have never seen anyone go homeless at Defcon.

Maybe after they get back, but not during :)

I stayed in the Westin Hotel, and I was extremely satisfied. As a matter of fact we ended up getting plane tickets at the last minute that put us in Vegas a whole day earlier than we expected, and they let us check into our room at 2 A.M. without charging us for an extra night... :)
