i can remember an episode of the show "Mister Wizard's World" in which he stuck forks in each end of a hot dog and cooked it fairly quickly by passing and electrical current through it.

(anyone else remember that show? god, Don Herbert was fucking amazing... i credit that as one of the chief reasons i got interested in science and technology at such a young age)

I saw a movie where the cop cooked hot dogs like that. Yep, Mr. Wizard was a total geek and I loved it. He taught me how to spell SHELL OIL on the brand new invention - the portable calculator!

oh. my. god. don herbert and his associates appear to be releasing his classic programs on DVD!! for so so long i attempted to obtain this show, in college going so far as asking one of my friends whose father was an executive at Viacom to get me access to the tape vault. this is fucking awesome!

                    http://www.mrwizardstudios.com/tvshows.htm

of course, the videos are being offered at an ass-raping price, but perhaps i can get one of the schools where i consult to obtain them for their science department, etc. if they, do, it's super-fun-happy-ripping time! woot!

That is great. It reminds me of the view of a 3D FPS like Return to Castle Wolfenstein. All you are missing is an ammo bar showing how many charges you have left, and any special weapons like flame thrower, napalm, BBQ Grill. and BBQ Sauce.

I wanted to steal Duke Nukem fonts, but was spending too much time for the production value of it... but thats where the "TBBQ Forever" idea came from ... although in retrospect the font and color (probably mostly the letter spacing) makes it look more like a Batman thing.. Flame Orange would have probably looked more fitting for that jab, but otherwise out of place for the rest of the scheme .. *shrug*

and subnote to the hot dog thing... maybe next year:
                                TBBQ4 Hot dog cooking contest:
First to get the center of a hot-dog up to 140F
(team up with the beer cooling people to provide dogs and beer for 100 in under 5 min...)

and yes... i Do see how this is a BAD idea..... but it sounded good in my head....
