Btw, in regards to the structure, why not just have a hinged brace on either side that folds out like table legs at an angle to support the contraption?

Well reguardless of what they look like it may not be the best of ideas, even in jest by most accounts of state law you would need permission of the building owner, and not just the manager at the front desk. But then again this is Vegas, and Defcon so I'm not looking. heh. :P

Anyway, not a bad idea in theory, execution could(should) be something a little more difficult because what if they have kwikset/defiant locks(doubt it, but I've been surprised as hell when I've visited "supposedly" secure installations).

heh... that could introduce a very challenging social engineering aspect to such an activity.
"I'll admit I had an OiNK account and frequented it quite often… What made OiNK a great place was that it was like the world's greatest record store… iTunes kind of feels like Sam Goody to me. I don't feel cool when I go there. I'm tired of seeing John Mayer's face pop up. I feel like I'm being hustled when I visit there, and I don't think their product is that great. DRM, low bit rate, etc... OiNK it existed because it filled a void of what people want."
