how exactly would i prove i wasnt goin to use them in a crime, if i was to get caught with them in one of those states?

i'll preface this by noting that i am not a lawyer, but i believe context and prior record holds the most weight in these situations. the hypothetical i give to people goes a little like this...

if you were found to be carry lockpicks during some routine search (like, say, if you are patted down in the new york subway due to the new fascist measures the city has enacted) and were nowhere near a door or window to some secured building i'd say you wouldn't be facing much hassle. you likely wouldn't even be charged with a crime... or, if you somehow were, you could argue the case that you were minding your own business and not anywhere suspicious and (if this is the case) have no prior record of burglary or tresspassing. if you work in the security field in some fashion or have even a hobbyist's interest in such things, that can be a plus in your argument column as well.

if, on the other hand, you are "found" to have lockpicks when a police officer searches and questions you after discovering you crouched in a dark alley near the back door of an electronics store (and/or if a search of your records turns up arrests or prosecutions for larceny, B&E, etc) then you're in a much more difficult spot, particularly if this happens in a prima face state where the onus is on you to prove your innocence. (how such statutes can be considered constitutional is beyond me. wait for the day when a person standing on a soap box in washington d.c. is arrested for "intent to disturb the peace" on the grounds that their scruffy attire or long hair is prima face evidence of their subversive and criminal nature.)
"I'll admit I had an OiNK account and frequented it quite often… What made OiNK a great place was that it was like the world's greatest record store… iTunes kind of feels like Sam Goody to me. I don't feel cool when I go there. I'm tired of seeing John Mayer's face pop up. I feel like I'm being hustled when I visit there, and I don't think their product is that great. DRM, low bit rate, etc... OiNK it existed because it filled a void of what people want."

nah, i would never be caught B&E (doesnt mean i dont do it, but this doesnt mean that i do either) anyways, i wouldnt be giving the police any reason to search me in the first place, so no worrys there (i hope)

At one time, animated avatars were allowed. I guess it is possible that he could have added it then. :-)

Most animated icons selected by average users are annoying anyway..

To get back to the original topic at hand and add a bit of a teaser, LSI will have not one, but TWO "6 lock" boards for people to have a go on. Bring your "A" game. :)

i think ill just bring whatever game i can muster up before then, if i go, i still need to get a basic pick set at least so i can practice (not to mention start for the first time) oh well, i hear there will be practice locks there, so if i do go so it should be fine, as long as its fun i wont mind

You'd better bring your A game, shipping them is turning out to be a PITA!
