I thought about that, but I figure it'd just look like the printer went crazy... And I've got enough printer troubles at work, thank you very much. ;)

if its between leaning towards the 933k choice or the k3wl looking option, I've gotta go for the more obscure... it's fun trying to explain what the "2600" on my cap means to everyone that sees me... sometimes I just admit that its my golf handicap
had a 2600 tshirt on at a recent concert and found it pretty cool to be complimented on it by a chick @ the show.. to think that there are more out there; especially in this starved stateif it gets me nowhere, I'll go there proud; and I'm gonna go there free.Comment

My suggestion:
Defcon: X Machina
It has a nice multi-meaning connotation.
1) Defcon 10
2) Hackers (i.e. the gods) from the machine
3) Hackers that appear suddenly and unexpectedly with solutions to supposidly unsolvable difficulties
Of course, I do retain the copyright on this and have posted it once already on the Defcon mailing list. All attempts to pirate and use this without my express written permission is expected and anticipated.Last edited by Contrarian; December 24, 2001, 14:48.Comment

Defcon Chapter 10: Revalations
for the apocalyptical feel........There is an idea of a X-119; some kind of abstraction. But there is no real me: only an entity, something illusory. And though I can hide my cold gaze, and you can shake my hand and feel flesh gripping yours and maybe you can even sense our lifestyles are probably comparable... I simply am not there.Comment

Actually, i also like "DC 0x7D2" because then it creates an inside joke, and people from the outside want to be let in on it and know wtf 0x7D2 means. Even explaining after you explain it, people will still be intrigued by your explanation. If you guys don't make, i'll make ;) And you'll see me wearing my DC 0x7D2 appearal.
The problem with DCX or DC X is that everything is X. X-philes, XXX, Xena, Xerox..... And if some one asks you about it, you just say, "Def Con 10, duh!", and they would be like "I get it!"

Just answer me one question:
Does it really make a bit a difference if you call it Defcon 10, DefconX, DCX, Defcon Millenium, or whatever the hell you guys are talking about? Either way it's still the same DefCon.
If you're going to spend 3 months thinking about a name, then you're really gonna start loosing the original concept. No one really cares what you call DefCon, it's still Defcon.
That's just my 10 cents.
Peace. And see you at 'the Con'.Comment
