Re: This will make you feel good about airport security!
Now, what if you printed the other persons boarding pass. Before hand you knew they were going to be there. You pass the security check. You find the person. Take them to the bathroom flush them down the toilet or something more feasible to hide the body. You take there place on the plane and mix your hair gel with your toothpaste and blow the plane up.
I know that would never happen. But, for how much they talk about how secure the airports are now. and taking measures like unable to bring hair gel and toothpaste on the plane. That is crazy, This should be on the 10 O'clock news to further spread fear across America.

Re: This will make you feel good about airport security!
1. The system as far I have ever used them has never gone by credit card number, just the name on the card. Same as my passport, It scans the info on my passport number for my name matching that number in the international travel. Did you also Know I can get a credit/debit card in anyones name? It's really easy, really easy. Also, if you are savvy enough you can reprogram an ID to do the same thing. So here you can go to the airport with Alice's name on a credit card and use your ID or get a really good fake ID.
2. I have gone to the airport not knowing CRAP about my flight, scanned my credit card and away I go. You do not need a Confirmation number or matching credit card. Most times I can type in my last name, and initials of where I am flying.
3. The excuse behind justifying this contraption is that the lady checking boarding passes and ID's should be paying enough attention to catch a fraud. Also that once the original Alice goes to pick up her boarding pass she will raise alarm if someone is stealing her seat. They do not consider it a risk because you can be caught once the original owner tries to claim their seat because you can not be checked in to the plane twice.... Also...The fraud is going through security so they are not concerned since the fraud is obviously security checked if they make it passed the ID checker. Yes, It is stupid. Yes it is a breach. YES, More importantly it is a PRIVACY breech. I can now head to the airport and find out what plane you are taking, etc etc. Stalkers LOVE that shit. Same as going to the airport and looking up a last name and entering in Florida, hope they are local and they are taking the kids to disney land. Although, that is a bit far stretched a bored enough person could prove it possible.
4. The option may have been available, but will it actually complete the print? Next time I am at the airport I think I will try to print my boarding pass twice.
Ok...I'm just speaking from experience and from stupid answers I've gotten asking the lady at the registration desk in the past. I've seen and experienced many many stupid things at the airport.

Some airlines only need a name and a confirmation number. Considering the fact that people have to have the pass out at all times it would be easy to eye some numbers. If a second person with the same pass tried to board they would investigate and do a passenger count. Nowadays they'd have a lockdown. Interesting theory, maybe you can get a free flight.

This will make you feel good about airport security!
Yesterday I was flying to San Diego, and I went to check in using Delta's automatic check in. Swiped my credit card, and entered the info about my flight. It pulled up a reservation for someone whose name was close to mine, but wasn't me. This person had already checked in.
Ok so say my name was "Anne Smith-Jones", and there happened to be an "Ann Smith" on the same flight. You'd think it would know the difference, right?
No. Not only did it let me check in under Ann Smiths name, but it offered to reprint her boarding pass! So I could have gotten a boarding pass, and gone through security, under someone elses name!
I'd say that's a huge flaw in the system!Tags: None
