You can come with us in the hotel, and we will get you your tickets for defcon -- the cost is $100 each.

              getting in to defcon

well you don't really get tickets, you pay at the door, you hand them money and they hand you a badge, thats it, its all anonymous, and im not 100% sure but i dont think that they sell out of admission/badges. there is pre registration as well, but that isnt anonymous, last year it took me less than an hour in line to get my badge, you also get a prgram/schedule when you get your badge, l[last year the programs were late!!!].

                    Pre-Reg

We're actually trying to figure out a way to do Pre-Reg that works. Keep an eye on the site over the next couple of weeks.

Ok -- this is what I say -- I can host the pre-registration. The money wont go to me -- it can be shipped to you guys at defcon. I can set it up though... it wont be anonymous. If you do not want to give away your name then this will not be for you. This is only for the people that do not mind giving out their names, and bringing a photo id to defcon. Tell me what you think...

                        No. No es bueno.

Even if you people *were* handling the pre-reg, I would not give you my money. Why?

                        1) You're not a part of Defcon. If I know where my cash is going (i.e., the same organisation putting on the event I'm attending), I'll send it to them, not an outside agency.

                        2) Further, to be perfectly honest, I'm not going to trust my preregistration to someone running a site that appears to resell textfiles that're freely available online in the name of being able to make someone a hacker. Nothing against you personally, but I find that extremely distasteful, not to mention the whole rent-a-hacker deal. Sorry, no dice.

wasn''t there a problem with pre-regestration a few years back, people claiming they paid when they didn't or regestering after it was closed and such, also wasn't there a problem with bounced checks?

beahacker.com would not be getting the money. The money would be sent straight to defcon.org.

heh, you dont know the half of it, brutha..In years past, pre-reg has been something short of a nightmare. However, technology has advanced and so has the skill of our staff. Some of the organizers think that we can do this reliably and securely without much headache this year. I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, as I personaly think pre-reg is a good idea.

I return whatever i wish . Its called FREEDOWM OF RANDOMNESS IN A HECK . CLUSTERED DEFEATED CORn FORUM . Welcome to me
