Nevada currently does not honor New York CCW permits.
Nevada does issue non-resident CCW permits.
Clark County requires you to register your handguns with the LVMPD within 24 hours of possessing said firearms in the county. This law was ammended this year and the new changes go into effect next year. The changes are: residents of Clark County have 72 hours to register their handguns and visitors to Clark County only have to register their handguns, if they are staying more than 30 days in Clark County. Note: resident & non-resident CCW applications submitted in Clark County require all handguns listed on the CCW permit to be registered with the LVMPD.

I have a feeling she was worried more about her career then her safety, because regardless of the circumstances that outed her (friendly dateline mole) she was given the opportunity to go undercover and blew it.

That's my read also. She's on her cell phone, probably talking with her producer - she looks stressed, stressed, stressed and very worried - not about her safety but about her job.

She has the same body language and facial expression that someone doing a "perp-walk" in front of the press has.

Of course all this is conjecture but I do not think at any point she was fearing for her life.

You guys are on to something... while in the press room, the reporters and goons discussed what was probably happening behind the scenes with Dateline. Some of us believe that Madigan might not have had approval to do an actual story and was scoping things out. She could have been recording things so she could pitch a story.. so like "look at the cool footage I got at Defcon... can I do a story now?"

The general consensus was that Dateline would have sent much more manpower if they really wanted to get a story. A single person is probably working on their own and looking for future brownie points.

We should have mirrored the Dateline website internally, set up DNS to find it when on the DC network, then hack it to pieces right in front of the reporter.

We missed a perfect use for pool2girl!

Kudos to whoever shot the video on Youtube.

It should be uploaded to "I-caught" (ABC new's new show with online videos). It would be hilarious to see an NBC reporter being outed on an ABC news program. :)

Speaking of which... There's a set of photos I'd like to draw folks' attention to here. Specifically, I'd like people to pay attention to the size and composition of the 'mob'. Looking at this set, there are maybe 30 people there - at least four of them that I can see are goons (and I know that there was at least one more off-camera), and a good chunk of the people videotaping and/or taking her photograph are wearing press badges. She was not in any physical danger (in fact, she was probably in the single safest place she could be at that particular moment), and her facial expressions bear this out. Hell, she even had time to look over her shoulder before backing out of her parking space, and from what I recall of the video she drove out quite normally. Someone in fear of their life would not waste time with driving etiquette; hell, I'd be flooring it and aiming for anyone that got in my way if I were in physical danger.

Looking at that series of photos and videos, I can see reporters from The Washington Post, the San Jose Mercury News, TG Daily, The Inquirer, The Register, but sadly no one from InfoSec News.

You can add eweek and photo-meister eecue to the mix. I counted at least three goons in the crowd.

The HD video (250 mb) is crystal clear. Props to the guy to took it. I'm guessing you were the one who went straight for the license plate after I photographed it.

Next time I'll carry two cameras. I had to stand a few feet back because the minimum focus distance on my lens was 4.5 feet. Flea did an awesome job getting a very 'in your face" shot while she got into the car.
