Are you a mind reader or something?
I was about to send send you a PM...Yeah, the Wireless Contest is dead, or at least on life support. There are a couple of reasons:
- The restrictions of the Riv limits the amount/kind of direction finding, and it's been done to death.
- No original ideas have come up for an alternative competition.
- Some key people have pulled back.
- Even though the RFID contest was a hit, I just can't absorb the costs of producing the RFID kits again. The production and shipping costs of last year's kits (even though Parallax kindly donated a huge amount of parts and materials) left me unable to reproduce the kits again this year, especially in light of the vendor table situation in the villages.
There will very likely be some localized competitions as part of the presentations/instruction in the Wireless Village, but it looks like we'll be limited to just that this year. These will probably be no more than 15-20 minutes long, and be reenforcement for whatever subject the class was about.
