Whatever you do, don't do BLUE... um, because I think pink and yellow looks great on you... <that's it>.... and I heard that blue causes more bladder cancer than any other color... <yeah, they'll buy that>... :)... so whatever you do, don't go BLUE... I am only concerned :p

<ok i think they bought that... whew... that was close>

        Re: Blue

As a side note, I just got a new vendor that is coming to DC. He runs www.geekwearz.com and makes those PC carrying straps for your CPU and monitor. Very cool. Cheap too.

          Heh

Apparently russ is trying to get the award for the most off-topic post possible. Three Cheers for russ!

You just don't get it, once we're off topic, you can't bring it back.

<ooc> I cant actually see myself bringing a desktop to the con, with everyone's talk of thievery, mischevious acts, drunkwhores, etc.
You know you dont want to carry around a 21" monitor, with your damn tower. Unless of course your 5'5 with muscles abound, then by all means carry your monitor like its a feather. Just dont put that shit down.<\ooc>

So im guessing your hair is blue blackwave?

It's not a strongman competition, you don't carry it all day. You carry it to a table, then you play. Not that hard to do. People usually don't screw with equipment that much. If you are worried about heavy stuff either don't bring it or bring a cart. Just pick one up at a home depot or walmart in vegas.

Yes, your guess is correct :) It is a nice color for hair... I have tried them all and usually settle for Midnight Blue... or Vampire Red... depends on how I feel.. If I get tricky I will mix them. Long Live Manic Panic!

usually being the key word :) make sure all your stuff is screwed on, and I would suggest not using the big easy thumbscrews, remove those and put on hex screws and make them tight... this would slow someone down and look for the easy to open boxes...

I recall a couple of Cons where DT has gotten in front and spoken to everyone because some thief took out a chip or two from someone else's box... it is just wrong.

                      what a deal!

I gott post thos story somewhere. In July 1998 I bought a 19" Philips monitor for $639.95. It had a 3 year warranty. Well last month it broke, just went POP and that's it, no picture.

Well I bought it on American Express and it has an extra 1 year warranty. But since I could not find a repair shop. Amex gave me my $639.95 back, a full refund!

So now I have this 19" monitor, it sounds like it is starting up and should work but there is no image...should I bring it for experimentation or repair? Can anyone use it?

Repair isn't worth it on most monitors these days. More expensive to fix than replace. Three syllables.

Oooh, DC shoot, I like that. The monitor weighs a good 30 lbs! If anyone is on the deathrace and wants to haul it up, that sounds like a good option...if anyone has an HK-91 I want one shot!

Heh, I'm road tripping with 5 other friends, and while I trust them, I don't think it would be a good idea to haul any of my hardware that goes bang! cross country.

Then again you could always destroy old computers the way I've been doing it for years.

                                What you wanna do is;
-Open the computer up and give it a nice dowsing in gas and other flammable liquids.

-Next you want to dust the inside with combustible powder, usually gunpowder, and sodium, empty the contents of old fire works, and fill it up.

-Next fill a couple small water bottles with gasoline or other fun flammable liquids and place them in the case.

-To finish it up run a fuse in to one of the gas bottles to the front of the case and then toss a couple road flairs in there, a box of old fireworks, close the case up good sealing off all openings except for the fuse sticking out of the front.

Now this is actually a really pretty sight when it goes off, just another fun way to destroy old hardware.
