Tacitus dropped off the time clock at the last drink up in questionable condition but got it working several minutes after screwing with it. I am still in need of the one that might be in Defcon storage, this is unknown.
I think it's time to update the Cannonball website but it's the Fouth of July weekend. Happy Fireworking.
TommEE, The time clock is at the DEFCON office, DM me to discuss.
How about an iphone 3Gs in every ride using one of the many trip-planner/mapping/GPS proggies out there that give time, ave. speed, fastest speed reached, etc. data points? You can still make and receive calls with some of them, and with a cig lighter charger.... game over? These apps even upload the data to websites that post the data to a thumb pin type of google maps app. You can take pics along the way, and the 3GS will geo/time stamp them, and upload them to pin drops on the map. Might be a nice easy way to vibe out afterwards with pics of costumes, in and out burger snakes, etc...
I've sold the Corrado, and now run a bumped up 2002 GTi putting out 275tq/260hp. But, worried about my front axel bearings lately... maybe not so fun at speed in the desert?

I'm not saying that people on the Cannonball Run break any speed laws, and I understand that the risk is minimal (if any), but is it really a good idea to tempt fate by posting so many details of the Run online? As we saw not too long ago, some authorities are really relaxed with respect to this event but opinions can change quickly.

I will be using QIK to broadcast video possibly to http://qik.com/tommee and I will be on Google Latitude with the account tommEE at g - mail
3G will be an issue but should be as close as we can get to real time.
Not a bunch of teams have registered but I know that Club kM people want to race, cnelson is gearing up for it. Evil Matt will return trying to win a un-official 4th time. I am just playing it by ear, we will see what happens.

Funny things happen when you post details online, examples below:
