Unfortunately, some of the folks were perfectly decent (well, I think), but I just erm, didn't get outside enough for them. I get confused sometimes when people ask what I do for fun. :) Pizza, beer, and a kernel compile just isn't what most people get excited about for a Friday night.

Tell me about it, people tell me that the day that I lose it and get into a catatonic state, they are going to dress me in brightly colored clothes and push me around in my computer chair...

Little did they know the upperhand would be mine, by that time I would already be inside the machine, and just no longer found use for the shell.. ;)

Well, I was going to call up the FCC and ask for a list of licensed frequencies in Las Vegas under some technically true pretense or something, but if you have the list, publish away!

BANG BANG BANG! Damn song was stuck in my head for months. As for the porn soundtrack being broadcast, that was me, thanks to my gratuitous don't-pay-per-view, compliments of Dr. Faustus. =o)

I do, I think either you or someone else mentioned they were compiling a freq-guide for LV.
I think Skroo was trying to get something together. Not sure though. This topic deffinetly requires its own thread.

oh no, you made me think of the chalk writers my music teacher used to use to write music on the board!

The difference is that my bag is primarily filled with tech gear... not glitter and fairy wings.

                              lockpicking defcon 1

You know those Defcon 1 laptop locks? Are those pickable? I wonder what the record is for picking them. Of course you don't want to look TOO good doing it in case anything turns up missing.

Is that right -- "turns up missing"? I guess I should say "Goes missing."

As for luggage, I'll only need one shirt, I'l buy more there. How many folks have a "Spotted the Fed" shirt?

I think I have played STF almost every year, but never seem to get the right person.. shux.

We all know anything is pickable, but why waste precious time when you can do this...

                                Try this:
                                Requirements:

                                2 long needles
1 Jumper cable with alligator clips on each end
1 tungsten/cobalt carbide wire cutter (found on Gerbers Legend 800 Line)
                                1 defcon cable lock

... without moving any of the devices get one of the the cable on point A and push needleA through the plastic coating so that it makes contact with the conduit.

push needleA on the opposite side of the cable length. Once needles are secure place alligator clipA on one needleA and alligator clipB on needleB.

Snip the cable in between the needles.

Viola phree laptop, rather the laptop is phree!

The reason this works, defcon locks do not check for changes in resistance when adding the jumpers or compare the resistance with the jumper cable to their own cable.

Better solutions would be to have several wires wrapped by the and wrapped by 2 conductive material layers, then wrapped by the plastic... this way once the needles pierced and made a short between the layers the alarm would sound, or of that was bypassed, once the cable was cut the hot wire would check itself and the alarm would sound since the chances are that the bundle of wires within the cable would not be contacting correctly.

                                Comment
