A man after my own tastes. The Las Vegas Cigar company up on the strip actually isn't bad. They are rolled right there, with a walk in humidor in the back. I like my cigars to deliver pretty powerfully, and these were pretty good. On the downside, the pack was tight and the draw abysmal.

My humidor has just been vacated, and I'm still deciding on what I should get next on my decidedly limited budget.

I've actually wanted to go in there and try on some robes before, but I'm pretty sure they didn't like it. It's right across the street from Ted Drewes. (Ted Drewes is a St. Louis institution, their concretes are some of the best summertime snacks ever.)

            SOCKS!!!!

Bring lots and lots of socks, you won't regret it. You can not bring too many pairs of socks to Las Vegas in August.

Also I just got back from South America. They weren't thrilled about me taking my FRS radios on the plane. They made me throw the batteries away, but I just bought some at the duty free electronics store on the other side of security. I would guess probably the same thing goes for GPS recievers.

I forgot once to take my belt off and put it in my backpack before going through the metal detector, and boy did I regret it. They searched anyone who set off the detector, you don't get a second chance anymore. In addition they do *random* searches of people. They are not supposed to be profiling based on thinge like age, sex, or race, etc... at the gate the computer picks out random passangers that have to have their bags searched.
So I would suggest wearing a bra without a metal underwire for the plane trip.

on a side not if they federalize airport security employees will they be prohibited from random searches due to protections established by the fourth amendment against general searches and seizures

            and don't forget socks

              Socks

I agree with the sock thing. I am a freak about hygene, and after spending a few hours in the sun or in one of those tents, you are going to want to burn everything you own to get the sweat out. Bring a lot of extra shirts too, or buy them as the con goes on, you'll funk those up too.

I usually bring shorts, and socks, and buy the shirts at the con.
Taking showers 3 - 4 times a day is not uncommon during the con... and if there is no AC, it is room time. (even though those damn ac's at the AP phreeze themselves within minutes).

I have travelled to cons before where people only brought 1 pair of denim jeans, one t-shirt, one pair of socks (wearing them all)... by day 2 the funk was so unbearable we made them put there clothes outside because the stench was filling up the room at night.

When returning back after con time, we had to ride back with all the windows open because the AC filters could not do anything about the fat funk... picture 20 years of deli meat, anal drip, all being boiled in the vegas sun... then maybe you will understand the putrid emanations that poured from this man's body.

Needless to say they were not invited back the next year.

Can you tell me more about the full searches? I've only flown twice, before we decided it was safer to be a fascist country.

They don't really make non-fortified bras in my size. I also resent having to spend the time searching every store and paying another $40 just to pacify security nazis. I don't have the time or money for their bullshit.

Did you see the alarm go off on any girls while you were there? I've got a friend who is flying soon, so maybe she can tell me. Haha, I'd have half a mind to flash my ugly old (probably sweaty) bra at the security people and make a stink about it. Then again, I can stuff alot of things in there, so technically they are right about searching (even if it's wrong to search every girl over a B or C cup).

I haven't heard any reports on this actually happening.
From what I have read and talked to people about, if you are so "psuedo-randomly" selected you get pulled aside and get asked various questions. If things get weirder they pull you into a room and talk with you there with about 3 more people involved.

The worse that would happen to anyone that was innocent would simply not be allowed to fly either on that flight, or that airport. Also I heard that if you have connecting flights you may also get further hassle on the next legs.

I really doubt you would be searched in such a manner, unless of course you have been tackled down first.

Especially with reports that airport security (not the wifi airport) is still less than desirable.

Those airport security guards are rather worthless, they have no schooling in search techniques worth a hoot. They think they are hot stuff but if it was not for airplanes they'd be flipping burgers and they'd be bad at that too. They are wasting everyone's time and giving us a flase sense of security. They are the computer equivalent of a 5 year old anti-virus program.

If you think that's bad, come to work with me one day to Long Beach and I will show you such a false sense of security you'll puke. LINCOLN SECURITY is the worst, I have seen their folks asleep on the job or glued to a TV set. if any Lincoln supervisors are reading this loan me a video camera man.

LOL, I could tell you about some serious cheap ass security for another unnamed company that represented in LB as well... most of the guards take turns sleeping in construction areas on their site ... now that is all about the class.

Before September 11 they always slept, and after September 11th a few ask for driver's licenses. Yea, secure.

But they do keep an eye for ppl carrying 2600... ;) which means they can at least recognize numbers... or at least the numbers as one symbol.
