          if you wanted to be all militaryish it would be 8.12 pm, but it's not supposed to be a time

              (because I was taught you always put a copyright on your stuph)

              says:

              ©Word eh 2012

              2012, because 2012 is my favourite nbr (pronounced twenty-twelve, not two thousand twelve)
              the rest is self explanitory..
              <octalpuss's mind boggles>

              What *exactly* did you do to secure your copyright? There's more to it than putting a ©
              under it.

              And the year listed is the year the copyright begins. So you're saying that it doesn't go into effect until 2012, which means anyone is free to steal your shit until then.

              But yeah... I'm sure you knew that.

                Actually to secure a copyright all you need to do it put the (c), the date, and your name. I do lots of photograpy and I hold the copyrights to those images.

                To "properly" secure the copyright you need to file the item with the Library of Congress.

                Whether you have files or not makes no difference on the enforcement of your copyright. Where the difference arises is in lawsuits for copyright infringement. When you have filed with the Library of Congress you get to sue for damages. If you only put the (c), date and name, you can sue for the user to cease and desist.

                I had one of my photos used without payment to me. Had I filed I am told I could win $50,000. But considering the number of phtoos that I shoot, I would spend more than that in filing fees alone over the decades.

                    1984 is a movie. 1138 is the penal code for getting caught with your pants down in a henhouse.

                    I prefer 6900 myself. It's 100x better than 69.

                            GLiL a movie? Well it's about 7 minutes long, it won't put too many people to sleep at that rate.

                            Of course you have seen "405 The Movie". Please tell me you have, or get it at 405themovie.com
