What? Who made you bigger, faster, stronger and rebuilt you?

Lexxmac thanks for the info. How do I prove I am just a girl from Utah, who is completely interested in hacking and making hacker friends, would like a career in social engineering AND I would love to be a model on the cover of a Python site, or a C++ site. Just trying to get my foot in the door with all these things. You can fake almost everything in life, but you can't fake passion.
!
From Utah? Where's Siv...
A career in social engineering? Bad start.
A model on a computer oriented website? Talk to Teklord. He can help.
You can fake passion. It's called Porn. There is a different convention for that.

So yea, with all that being said, I'd said chances are better than not that she is real.
Real? Sure. No idea what is really going on and trying to get by on her boobs so far? Yes. I haven't counted but the word "model" has come up in almost every post.

LMAO!!! Of course! Doesn't it help that I am totally (wanting with high level of desire) into hacking, I am a model, smart and slightly funny? AND I could be the only model that actually WANTS to attend and be a big part of Defcon. You guys are not easy by any means.
Oh honey. You aren't the only big breasted chick to hit this con before. Model is just another word for naked chick in the pool.

The model thing isn't 100% accurate, there are a good bit of web shows with some fairly attractive women as hosts, and a good bit of the female hackers are very beautiful.
This. Man, I hate myself a little for doing that.

Awesome. Glad to know there really are other girls that are into this stuff. This is really hard breaking into a mans world here, as seen by this thread.
Peace
This comment is actually incredibly insulting. Man's world my little ass. Did you watch the recent Fox news show about how girls might actually be into computers and decide, "hey wow, I bet if that's true I could go there and bend boys around my finger if I pretend to be into hacking"? You had better have your act together if you make it here, cuz if you don't the girls who really do know stuff are gonna eat you alive. That's not me by the way. I don't do computer stuff. Just saying.

Thats my 0.02 cents. You can get me my change later
At the end of it all, who cares? It's fun for a bit at least. And it might just save us all some time at Con.
Sorry, the only issue so far is something similar to trolling, but not enough for me to come to a conclusion. Evidence suggesting trolling:
"Look at me. I claim to be a girl and claim to be pretty. This is even my name, so it is what I want you to know about me first more than how clever I am, or how awesome my technical skills are by example or demonstration."
This is a little annoying, as it isn't what I consider hacking, but by itself, it isn't a rule violation. It can become a rule violation if it becomes trolling, or becomes an advertisement for service, but there is no evidence of either of these, only "guilt by approximation" where the behavior is similar to what we've seen from trolls, but may not be trolling. (Jury is still out on this: waiting for more data.) Because the behavior is similar, many member's "bullshit" detectors have been triggered, and with the trouble caused by Faye in recent memory, everyone's suspicion is heightened, and rightly so. Some doubt will remain in many users' minds about this user being, "legit," (whatever that means.)
This also provide some concern:

A few searches on the forums related to women and hacking would have revealed there are women on the forums that are hackers (by example and demonstration) and even a recent thread, which discussed complaints about hacking being, "a mans world." (A few of the women on this forum actually replied to that thread, too.) Also, this comment appeared after the user said they were going to search for Faye on the forums, implying that Faye was identified as a peer to this user. Lurking would have provided an opportunity to understand the problems with the claim stated above and a better understanding of the troubles that lead up to Faye's being banned from the forums.
In the rules, we impose a forced lurking period so new users can become familiar with the forums. For some spaces on the forums (Rides & Room Sharing and /dev/random) we allow users to post right-away. Even spending just 1 hour to read about contests, events, and current planning related to Defcon could provide a new user with a great deal of knowledge related to Defcon and socializing on the forums, and from my experience, hackers are not afraid of reading or education.
Back to this thread: certainly, some members are acting silly, and this has provided a laugh, and example posts from this user appear to have things in common to content from trolls, but I'm still playing the, "wait and see," game and was avoiding direct communication about this, until you asked.
The question I ask myself with users like this, "is their behavior causing problems on the forums?" If so, we probably have a rule to address the problem. There probably won't be any action until a rule is broken or mods see trouble.
Users learn, or they don't. If they don't learn, then they probably were not hackers.
I'm going back to the shadows to watch, wait, and see.

Well I admit I could be wrong but as someone said look up Faye and you'll understand... Also posting things like pretty girl wants a room and ride to DefCon doesn't help much either.
My advise would be to hook up with friends that are going, if you don't have any then a room to yourself could work... If expense is an issue then there are several women you could hook up with for a room, and for a good chunk of the forum guys I have met they are decent human beings... Hell I'm a pretty big dude and I wouldn't take the risk of rooming with someone I have no idea who they are. That INS how gear sprouts legs.
I wish you the best at your first DefCon and if you come to the forum meet I'm sure there are plenty of people who would like to get to know a new person.
There is a bit of a learning curve going on here for me, I appreciate the help, the critics, and all the info. I hope to be at the forum and meet some new friends. I will be looking up Faye next.
Wow you really did your research right. Yes, that is me on all of those websites and I just posted a new pic on FB proving this is really me with a hand written sign (my printer blows) that says DEF CON 18, July 6, 2010. Believe it!
What a grand entrance to the hacking world.... Thanks for doing the research and actually believing me. I can see that is obviously hard to do in this world. High Wiz and friends.... THANK YOU <3
