Re: Central Maryland Hackerspace: Unallocated Space
Now that the contractors are finally finished, and the space is ours, we will be having the big move-in push this coming weekend. We also got our kickstarter page live to help build up the finances needed to construct our loft area and other larger undertakings. If your interested in donating financially, join us in IRC at #unallocatedspace on efnet, link is in the topic.Comment

Flex Your Rights Night
Tuesday, February 22nd will be the first “Flex Your Rights Night.” The goal of these nights will be to focus on legal issues surrounding our rights and how to protect them as it relates to encounters with police, in the context of technology, or just in the abstract.
For our inagural Flex Your Rights Night,we will be starting at 7PM and screening the video “10 Rules for Dealing with Police” which was created by the organization Flex Your Rights.
More info can be found on our blog, here.
We’ll follow up with a discussion session about the video, questions and answers, and your feedback about how we can continue on with Flex Your Rights nights in the future.
We hope to see you at the Space on Tuesday, February 22nd!"\x74\x68\x65\x70\x72\x65\x7a\x39\x38";Comment

Re: Central Maryland Hackerspace: Unallocated Space
I really liked the previous film in this series, "Busted" and have been meaning to see "10 Rules"
Pity i won't be around. This is a terrific community outreach plan, however."I'll admit I had an OiNK account and frequented it quite often… What made OiNK a great place was that it was like the world's greatest record store… iTunes kind of feels like Sam Goody to me. I don't feel cool when I go there. I'm tired of seeing John Mayer's face pop up. I feel like I'm being hustled when I visit there, and I don't think their product is that great. DRM, low bit rate, etc... OiNK it existed because it filled a void of what people want."

I may show Busted at a subsequent meeting. I also have a few other videos of interest for future months."\x74\x68\x65\x70\x72\x65\x7a\x39\x38";Comment
