A shaved head isn't generally a professional look for women and some of us are interested in the answer to Renderman's question for that reason. I can do short shorty short short, I can't do bald.

You may want to consider a way to pay people NOT to get a mohawk. I mean, while I would not pay $1.00 to see Roamer get his annual mohawk, I might pay $20 to have him not get one.

Wow! An extortion option. That could be good. If someone does not want a mohawk, they could contribute more than what people have paid to get one, so that both contributions are accepted.

I can see this getting ugly really fast. A part of me likes it, the other part knows I'd be a victim and I'm not sure it's in the budget.

I wouldn't stress it too much. This only works if everyone on both sides (pay to get the hawk, paid not to get the hawk) agree. Particularly as regards to paid to get the hawk. For instance, and I could be wrong, I don't think they have printed enough money to get DT to get a mohawk. I tried to convince him a couple of years ago. Tried hard. I just don't see it happening.

For instance. A person on whom there is a mohawk bounty would have to set their own price. Like my guess is that DT would set his somewhere around $500,000. No way it's going to happen. Me, I might set the "won't get a mohawk" number at $100 or something equally doable. You could set your mohawk bounty at $50,000. Seems highly unlikely to happen but if it did you'd need to make with the hawk.

Great idea roamer! My mohawk bounty is $10,000 .. (better safe than sorry) Not that I have enough hair for a mohawk anyway.

I'd pay GOOD money to see DT in a 'hawk, and I bet others would too. :-)

So your "won't get a mohawk" number is $100?
And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts, And I looked and behold: a pale horse. And his name, that sat on him, was Death. And Hell followed with him.

If they end up doing bounties for no mohawk, then yes. I will set mine at $100 for Hackers for Charity.

could you imagine if the big bounty wall chart allowed the donors to select which direction the line moved with their contribution of money? i could see someone like Renderman getting around 90% of the way there, then asking all his associates to chip in $5 in the opposite direction to stem the tide. Or DT being mere dollars away, then mystery Fed money clinks into the coffer resetting him to zero. (not like the government has that kinda cash to throw around, heh... but funny, none the less)

I don't feel cool when I go there. I'm tired of seeing John Mayer's face pop up. I feel like I'm being hustled when I visit there, and I don't think their product is that great. DRM, low bit rate, etc... OiNK it existed because it filled a void of what people want."

Perhaps the mohawk folks could do beard trims after the unix beard contest was done and earn some extra cash for charity. I could arrive home with a bare chin much more safely than with a shaved head, and others may be in the same boat.
