Re: So, who is bringing what?
I'm not bringing 5.56 but I have ammo. How about this. You tell me how much you want and find a good price online for it. Use slow shipping or whatever to lessen the price. I will bring that much ammo for you. You can pay me cash for it at the low price at which it can be replaced (plan on shipping to CA). That way you can have ammo and not be in a rush. Most of what I have is LAX and Eagle, most in stripper clips. And toss in a beer. Let me know if this may be a solution for you.

Re: So, who is bringing what?
Life and the early shoot schedule have messed up my drop ship schedule, looks like I will either have to self ship ammo or buy locally. Recommendations anyone? 5.56 ammo.

Re: So, who is bringing what?
I've been wanting to shoot a FAL for a while.
I bought a Pelican 1700 so I can bring the Vz. Really got my money's worth on my Amazon prime $3.99 overnight shipping on that one. My wife refuses to travel with the pelican 1750, too big and heavy.
Going to build a hot wire foam cutter tonight so I don't have to deal with the electric kitchen knife.Leave a comment:

Still considering bringing baby. We shall see. May totally change up the offerings from last year, FAL?
Can't wait to be in the desert and shoot with y'all.Leave a comment:

Re: So, who is bringing what?
Had to wait 5 1/2 months for the form to come back on my SAIGA 12. Then another 4 months for the @#(*&$@# gunsmith to do his job. Just got it last weekend! whoo! It blew apart the flash supressor that was on there, ha.Ha what? I'll be leaving that out of the print out I take with me. I guess you can only transport items in gaseous form?
Getting back on topic, got my last 5320.20 today for an SBR I wanted to bring with a week to spare, I was getting worried.
Gils - I have both policies printed out, and there's nothing in either about ammo in the same case.
However, after hefting my case last night with the ammo in it I'm rethinking my strategy. I was wanting to bring my PS90 and my romanian AKM, 6 boxes of 5.7 and about 4 boxes of 7.62 (i figured if others wanted to shoot that there would be a higher likelyhood of ammo available) but the thing weighs 40 pounds and even though I'm a big girl that's a heck of a lot for me to heft around while also trying to control my suitcase. I might end up just bringing a smaller case and the PS90. So sad. You all will miss out on seeing Eggbert.Leave a comment:

Re: So, who is bringing what?
The TSA sets the minimum standards. Airlines can be more restrictive. Print out Delta's policy, since it is not Delta's policy to forbid ammo in the same case as the gun. That was perfect, thanks! I've printed it out along with the TSA article, so hopefully I should be good to go. The lady on the phone from Delta did tell me that I couldn't have the ammo in the same case as the gun, but TSA's site clearly says opposite, so I'm going with TSA.
As far as I know, Jetblue is the only major airline that forbids ammo in the same case as the gun.
I just noticed this in the Delta policy:
Ammunition in excess of 11 lbs. per passenger or that contains potential projectiles is not allowed.

Re: So, who is bringing what?
Whose hard sided luggage do you mean?
I have gander mountain hard cases, but yes, they are quite heavy.Leave a comment:

Have you checked our hard sided luggage lately? They usually have soft zippers. Gone are the huge chrome latches. And what sucks about pelican cases is empty they take up over half your weight limit.Leave a comment:

The lady on the phone from Delta did tell me that I couldn't have the ammo in the same case as the gun, but TSA's site clearly says opposite, so I'm going with TSA. She also said that the ammo had to be in a sealed container. I said "Sealed container? You mean like a seperate, locked container?" and she said "No, the container the ammo comes in" and I said "ammo doesn't come in sealed containers. it's in a cardboard box that has a lid tucked in." She said "right." so I just told her thanks for her help and came on here. hahaThat shouldn't be a problem, I flew on delta a few weeks ago doing that. I recommend you print this out though, and have ready so you can train the delta agent on their own policy if they have a problem. Once in a while I get "you cant have ammo and guns in the same case" or similar made up rule. I slap the policy down and say "show me where it says that", and after a few minutes of them fishing for an excuse they give up and follow their policy correctly.

After I broke out the two suppressors they asked if I had a federal ID to show heh. Not as good as someone last year that I think was asked if they wanted to go through armed check-in.Leave a comment:

Re: So, who is bringing what?
yeah, flip flops will be the name of the game that day.
Sounds like a plan!
Anyone know if you can pack more than one gun in the same case when flying Delta?? TSA doesn't mention anything about multiple guns in the same hardbacked, locked case, and the Delta lady I talked to did not sound like she knew anything about it...Leave a comment:
