If you arrive on site and have not pre-regged, i'll do my best to accommodate you. People can always just shoot off to the side in an unregulated, uncovered area (as long as you maintain the same cease-fires and safety rules as we do) but you can only step into the established lanes if you have a badge.

Paying for a space buys you shade, water, and a table. If you stand off to the side in the sun with no water and no tables you can shoot but you will not be a part of the event. From what I have seen you have a good shot at joining a group by waving a $20 bill and letting other shoot your toys :-)

Hi there, I'm a newb to DC, and am behind the game for this shoot.

I'm trying to figure out if I can still come to the shoot, even though the pre-registration is closed. I know Deviant's busy getting ready, but does anyone have a good idea on if I can just come and pay my registration fee in person?

If so, I'll be bringing my PS90 (something fun AND something green) and some ammo for folks to shoot it if anyone's interested?? and money to give other folks for shooting their stuff.

If I can't get at least a decent confirmation that I can still attend the shoot and just pay when I get there then I'm probably not going to go through the hassle of bringing my gun on my flight. Carrying suitcase while wearingin heels is bad enough without having to lug around a huge gun case, too.

The registration has historically been for people that want a table and/or tent. Pre-reg is for planning. It is possible he may have more tables and tents on-site for on-site registration - you will have to ask him.

If you do not plan to use a table or tent, the event happens on BLM (public) land, and there are other places near-by that people have also used to shoot if not paying for the table/tent rentals brought to the site.

On-site, if you find someone else willing to let you use some part of their table/tent, you might be able to share with them, but it will be up to them, and you may want to consider a thank-you or bribe.

Deviant said he would be pretty much offline from here until the shoot. If for some reason you couldn't get a badge you could still shoot on "Range C". I'd think you'd be able to show up with cash and get a badge though. It's Vegas, cash can buy anything.

just looked up the LV steel target, that is the most epic target I have ever saw.. please god let me shoot at that!

He sells all kinds of targets, some are pretty sweet. I just don't want you to get your hopes up too much, the one I'm bringing this year is just a 10" round plate, nothing spring loaded or anything. Last year I had the dueling tree.

It is much more satisfying to hear the "PING" though when shooting.

I'm picking up a 10" 5/8" thick AR500 steel target from lvsteeltargets before the shoot, then dropping it back off to him to ship to my home after.

I did this last year for the dueling tree I picked up from him.

I'm probably only going to put it out 25 yards or so, so that newbies with handguns still have a chance of hitting it. Rifles will probably fuck it up too much (hp 223 might be ok), and steel core would be a terrible idea both for the target and humans catching ricochets.

I think my final list is going to look similar to last year with a few tweaks


Short guns:

1. Kahr CM9 - my new favorite carry gun, plan to carry now that I got my Nevada permit

2. S&W 38 airweight snub. Was surprisingly popular with people who hadn't shot much. I guess it's the iconic look of the thing, and the roar of a 38 out of a 1 inch barrel.

3. Sig P232 - My wife's favorite carry gun, newbies liked this as well because it looks like a PPK.

4. LCP - My backup carry gun when I'm wearing pants with small pockets. Not sure if I will bring this or not.


Longer guns, I may only bring one of these depending on room:
1. PLR-16 - Kind of torn between this and the PLR-22. I got the golf ball launcher and I reloaded a bunch of blanks in 223, so I'll probably bring that stuff (for long distance lobbing only, golf balls bounce). The 22 can shoot golf balls as well, but only about 100 yards.

2. If I can find room, I may try to bring my Vz.58. It's a czechpoint model and it's damn fun. The Vz.58 is an amazing gun, I love it a lot.

Now that we are closer, can anyone comment regarding if someone is bringing rebar like last year? I may need to hit up some stores to get camping stuff on Wednesday, so I might be able to pick up some target related hardware (within reason, and a few dollars to reimburse me would be nice).

On that same token, can someone pick me up two boxes of clay pigeons? I'll give you $30 for the two at the shoot. I'm going to probably hit up a Target-type store (the retailer), and a home improvement store. A third stop at a store that is guaranteed to have clay targets is going to be pushing it for me.

My first NFA wait was 4 weeks but since then they put CA in with NV and AZ so delays are long now.

In other news I have a cracked trigger housing on my Serbu. A new one is enroute but it seems I just shoot this puppy way more than anyone ever expected!

The wait time is like that everywhere, my last took 7 months. I should have more NFA craziness next year too, it makes the MAC look lame (which isnt too hard).

At DC19 I brought a slew of guns but only fired a couple. This year I'll likely bring my Serbu Super Shorty and not much else. Quality, not quantity!

I was very intimidated by the Serbu Super Shorty last year and regretted not giving it a run.
I would love to have an opportunity to try it out this year! =)

My gear is getting way thinned out but way propped up. The Serbu Super Shorty was a hit last year so I am leaning towards quality instead of quantity.

Yeah, I feel sorry for the poor security guard when we checked out.... I think we were there for what 30-45 minutes? We had to inventory every single gun out of the lockup.
